General Motors and Enterprise Rent-A-Car Enter Into Preferred Provider Agreement

Enterprise to offer comparable GM Models to GM Dealers for customer courtesy transportation

Detroit - General Motors Corp. announced today that Enterprise Rent-A-Car has been selected as the preferred provider for courtesy transportation for all Buick, Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Pontiac/GMC dealers.

Enterprise will provide GM dealers GM vehicles as service loaners while overnight warranty repairs are completed on customer vehicles. This will enhance the warranty repair experience of GM customers by offering immediate, convenient means for pick-up or delivery of a comparable loaner vehicle.

“GM and our dealers are always looking for ways to further improve upon the ownership experience of our customers, which is why we chose Enterprise Rent-A-Car,” said John Smith, General Motors group vice president, vehicle sales, service and marketing. “We know customers have busy lives and we’re confident this extended relationship with Enterprise will enhance the customer service experience at GM dealerships.

“In 2002, R.L. Polk data indicated that GM has the highest loyalty rate in the industry, with 67% of GM vehicle owners returning to buy another vehicle in 2002, and we believe this new offering demonstrates our strong commitment to customer satisfaction.”

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is the largest rental car company in North America and already has a relationship with many GM dealers. With more than 5,000 locations in the US, Enterprise has rental facilities within one mile of 95 percent of dealerships and in some cases has established an office, on site, as part of the dealership offering.

Jeff Morrell, Assistant Vice President for Business Development at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, said, “Our employees are dedicated to delivering the highest standard of service to GM dealers and this expertise will benefit their customers.”

Enterprise has been GM’s preferred provider of courtesy transportation for Cadillac since 1995, Saturn since 1999, Saab since 2000 and HUMMER since 2002.
