1973 CORVETTE Convertible, 4-Owner,

Offered at $23,500

Profile Sheet Reference: L-134

Nineteen hundred seventy three was a milestone year in Corvette history. Federal government mandates for 5mph bumpers took effect resulting in the first Corvette with the urethane front bumper and chrome rear bumpers. A unique look for a very special Corvette! The Vette Net is honored to present you with an opportunity to own this beautiful Elkhart Green 1973 Corvette convertible. It is in very nice condition and is extremely fun to drive—with the top down of course.

Included in the purchase of this Corvette is the factory original numbers matching L82 engine. It was pulled in 1998 because two cylinders lost compression. Rather than rebuilding the original engine, it was stored and a new ZZ4 Chevy 350 cu. in. engine was installed. It is rated at 355 hp. The Turbo Hydramatic 400 transmission is original as is the differential.

If you are looking for a Corvette convertible, this certainly is one Corvette you will want to seriously consider. Please know that I am here to help you evaluate this great American sports car and provide all the information you need. Your questions and request for additional information will be handled with priority.

Here is the profile as presented by its current owner:

VIN 1Z67T3S428747 Odometer at 72,465 miles (To date, the ZZ4 engine has 13,151 miles)

Owner’s Comments:

Since 1984, I have been the fourth owner of this Elkhart Green 1973 Corvette convertible. I am very fussy about maintenance and this Corvette has been given a lot of TLC.

We live in Florida and this car has always been a “Florida” Corvette. The frame is solid and the car is not driven in bad weather (rain).

This Corvette has exceptional eye appeal especially in the sunlight. Whenever I am in a gas station or car show, inevitably someone compliments the car and inquires about its color and originality.

Personally, I am not in this hobby to collect awards but this Corvette has won many local awards.

The interior is mostly original. That velour insert on the seats does not get hot like black vinyl and is very comfortable. The previous owner of the car made the change.

As noted earlier, the L82 engine was pulled in 1998 and comes with the car. Everything you see in the engine photo is included. It is still assembled and retains its stock bore. The engine pad shows the numbers. Missing parts include the exhaust manifolds, distributor, and fuel pump.

Rather than rebuilding the original engine, I decided to upgrade for more performance. So, I contacted Chris Petris, owner of Corvette Clinic in Sanford, FL. He installed a GM ZZ4 Chevy engine. This engine has a Comp Cam, roller rockers, high tech Comp Cam push rods. Externally you will see a GM high performance aluminum water pump, Delco fuel pump, Edlebrock Q-Jet carburetor, GM Hi-Torque starter, MSD Pro-billet tach drive distributor, MSD-6AL ignition control with rev-control, MSD Blaster 2 hi-performance coil, and coated Super Competition Hooker headers.

All the external and interior lights work, as do the gauges. There are a few things that do not work namely the air conditioning (parts missing) and the windshield washer.

I was asked to rate the cosmetic and mechanical condition of this Corvette on a scale of 1-10 (highest). When you see the Corvette, I think you will agree with my ratings.

Paint: 8.7

Driver Seat: 6

Passenger Seat: 7

Dash: 7

Front Carpet: 3

Driver Door Panel: 6

Passenger Door Panel: 7

Stowage Area Carpet: 6.7

Soft Top: 8

Windshield: 8

Side Glass: 8 (Rub mark on left door glass)

Mechanical Rating: 9 (I take great pride in fixing the Corvette whenever something needs attention. Every 3,000 miles or 6 months the car gets a full service, oil, lube, filter, fluid checks, etc. I use Mobile 1 and all synthetic fluid products.)

Operation: 8.5 (All controls, lights, switches, and gauges work perfectly. The air conditioning and windshield washer do not work. The AC is missing parts.)

Performance: 9 (While this is not a big block Corvette, it will certainly put a big smile on your face. It is fast and runs very well, tracks straight down the highway, shifts smoothly, stops like it should, and is quite comfortable even on long trips.)

Thank you for taking a look at my Elkhart Green 1973 Corvette convertible. If you have questions or need more information, my broker Larry Karlo will be happy to assist you.”
