IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING ACCEPTANCE OF NOTICES FOR PUBLICATION IN THE WEEKLY "GAZETTE"

ATTENTION is drawn to the Notification appearing in the 1st week of every month, regarding the latest dates and times of acceptance of Notices for publication in the weekly Gazettes, at the end of every weekly Gazette of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

All Notices to be published in the weekly Gazettes shall close at 12.00 noon of each Friday, two weeks before the date of publication. All Government Departments, Corporations, Boards, etc. are hereby advised that Notifications fixing closing dates and times of applications in respect of Post-Vacancies, Examinations, Tender Notices and dates and times of Auction Sales, etc. should be prepared by giving adequate time both from the date of despatch of notices to Govt. Press and from the date of publication, thereby enabling those interested in the contents of such notices to actively and positively participate please note that inquiries and complaints made in respect of corrections pertaining to notification will not be entertained after three months from the date of publication.

All notices to be published in the weekly Gazettes should reach Government Press two weeks before the date of publication i.e. notices for publication in the weekly Gazette of 15th February, 2019 should reach Government Press on or before 12.00 noon on 01st February, 2019. "Where any Act or enactment provides that any Proclamation, rule, regulation, order, by-law, notification or other matter shall be published in the Gazette, then such requirement shall be deemed to have been satisfied if such rule, regulation, order, by-law, notification or other matter is published in an electronic form of the Gazette."

Notice under Section 2(2) of Entertainment Tax Ordinance of No. 12 , 1946

I, Isura Devapriya, Chief Minister and Minister of Finance and Planning, Engineering Services, Law and Peace, Provincial Controler and Provincial Administration, Economic Development,Electric and Power of Western Province, hereby pronounce, according to powers vested on me under the provisions of the Entertainment Tax Ordinance No. 12 in 1946 to be read along with section 2(2) of Provincial Councils Act, No.12 of 1989. The suggessions aprroved in the Council on 19.02.2018 of Maharagama Urban Council, the Provisions Mentioned in Section 2(1) of Entertainment Tax Ordinance of No. 12, 1946 to levy 10% Entertainment Tax of imposition fee for showing film in a hall stated in Entertainment Tax Ordinance No. 12 of 1946 amended Act (Amendment) entetaiment Tax No. 37 of 1984 But showing films in the Urban Council Areas to levy 7.5% of the entrance fee for films.

Notice published under Section 2(2) of the Entertainment Tax Ordinance No. 12 of 1946

TO charge a 10% entertainment tax on the entrance fee for the recreation Act, of No. 12 of 1946 revised by the Excise Duty (Amendment) Act, No. 37 of 1984, in terms of Section 2(1) of the Entertainment Tax Ordinance No. 12 of 1946 Provisionally and the decision of D. D. Wickramasinghe in the Secretary of Kurunegala Pradeshiya Sabha executing officer of the duty functional powers, in terms of the Entertaiment tax of decision of No. 2002 dated 16.11.2016 that accepted by the General Meeting of Kurunegala Pradeshiya Sabha hold on 20th of September 2018 under the decision No. 21, Hon. Governor of the North Western Province, Kanapathipillei Cadhiravelpillei Logeswaran, I hereby declare that I have been authorized in accordance with the provisions of Section 2(2) of the Entertainment Tax Ordinance No. 12 of 1946 read with Section 2 of the Provincial Councils (Incidental Actions) Act, No. 12 of 1989.

Open Competitive Examination for the recruitment of Graduates for the vacancies of the Class 3 Grade I (A) of the Sri Lanka Teachers' Service

existing in the Provincial Council Schools of the North Western Province on District Basis - 2018

THE following paragraphs are amended in the Gazette Notification published in Gazette No. 2102 dated 14.12.2018 in relation to the above mentioned post.

Paragraph : 5.3 The age shall be not less than 21 years and not more than 43 years as at 14.01.2019.

Paragraph : 7.4.1

The applicants who already hold a permanent post in the Public Service shall produce a service certificate issued by the Head of the Department. In addition a certificate about the employment issued by the Grama Niladari and counter signed by the Divisional secretary shall be produced at the interview, in order to establish about the employment.

Paragraph: 09. Selection Method :

(a) The selection is made in terms of the provisions of Teachers' Service Minute of the North Western Provincial Public Service. The applicants who already hold a post that the basis qualification is a Degree will be considered after giving priority to the unemplyed Graduates and the Graduates who are employed in a post that the Degree is not a Basic Qualification.

(d) The priority will be given to the applicants of clergy for the religious subjects and religious affiliated subjects taking into consideration the existing number of vacancies according to the relevant medium.

Paragraph: 11.1 (d) Closing date is extended upto 08.02.2019.

02. In addition to 46 subjects mentioned in the said Gazette notification, subject No. 47 to 51 mentioned in Schedule II, are included here.

03. Even if the closing date of entertaining applications are extended up to 08.02.2019, all the qualifications shall be accomplished by 14.01.2019, the date mentioned in Gazette Notification No. 2102 dated 14.12.2018.

04. The other provisions mentioned in Gazette Notification No. 2102 dated 14.12.2018 will remain the same.
