IntroductionThis document records the findings of this self-evaluation, and our current improvement plan, including targets and the actions we will implement to meet the targets. 1.1The focus of this evaluationWe undertook self-evaluation of the teaching and learning of P.E. during the period September 18 to October 18. 2. Findings2.1 This is effective / very effective practice in our school Children enjoy P.E lessons in our school.Children benefit from the schools running initiative, Active School week, and other Active School Flag initiatives throughout the year.The strands of Games, Athletics and Aquatics were taught very well and with confidence.2.2. This is how we knowTeachers completed self-reflection sheets based on the provision of P.E. in our school. Parents and pupils completed surveys through the website and results were analysed. 100% of parents surveyed agreed that their children enjoyed P.E and benefitted from ASF initiatives. 87% of children surveyed indicated that they enjoyed P.E while 13% indicated they enjoyed P.E. sometimes.All teachers agreed that the strands of Athletics, Games and Aquatics are taught very well and with confidence. 2.3 This is what we are going to focus on to improve our practice furtherWe are going to focus on the teaching and learning of Gymnastics this year.All teachers felt that they lacked confidence when teaching gymnastics while 0% of children stated that Gymnastics was their favourite activity. We, as a staff want to upskill through CPD and therefore make Gymnastics more enjoyable for the children in our school. 72% of parents said they did not get enough information about their child’s progress in P.E. We are going to focus on giving more specific feedback to parents regarding their child’s progress in P.E. Teachers to plan collaboratively for learning activities in P.E. so we all teach the same strands throughout the school year.3.
