General:

❑ This lesson is suited for use on an Interactive Whiteboard (IWB);

❑ Several pages would be ideal for printing and used as an activity within the lesson. These pages are highlighted below.

Yr Amser:

This page highlights a selection of key vocabulary for introducing and/ or reinforcing the topic of “time”.

Moving the pointer over the word will reveal the English translation.

This page could be used for an oral introduction to the lesson. Children could repeat the words from the screen and / or use them as a reference point during the lesson .

The following patterns could be used to develop oral skills:

This page reinforces the concept introduced in the previous page. The “minutes past / to the hour” vocabulary are hidden. Children could be challenged to remember the vocabulary and check the answer by moving the pointer over the question mark.

Children are encouraged to complete the sentences using knowledge gained within the session(s). This activity could be completed on an Interactive Whiteboard activity (IWB) and / or used as a worksheet for use within the session.

A suggested use would be to complete the more difficult times as a class (IWB) and continue the lesson by children completing the remaining sentences on the printed sheet.

This page encourages children to read and respond to the particular time. Children complete the sheet by drawing the correct time on the clock face.

This activity could be printed for completion as a lesson activity or it could be used as an Interactive Whiteboard activity using the appropriate drawing tools.

This is a blank worksheet that could be modified by the teacher to suit the needs of a particular class.

Times could be drawn onto the clock faces and children complete the Welsh sentence or the Welsh sentence could be completed and the children could draw the time.

This page would particularly suit an Interactive Whiteboard.

The teacher could draw the time onto the blank clock face and children could respond with the correct phrase.

The teacher could say a phrase and the child could draw the time onto the clock face.

This page highlights a selection of more complex vocabulary that could be used to extend more able children or used in a separate lesson.

Chwilair (PRINTABLE ACTIVITY)

A basic word search that children could complete as an extension activity (if printed) or it could be used as a plenary to the session(s) using IWB drawing tools to highlight the words.
