Syllabus for Health6th Grade…Students will be able to learn the decision-making process and practice it; discover the value of goal setting and set personal goals. (Choosing the Best Way, Lesson 1)Students will be able to determine he qualities of a good friend; learn the difference between a crush, infatuation, and love. (Choosing the Best Way, Lesson 2)Students will be able to learn how to prevent sexual abuse; Identify emotional needs. (Choosing the Best Way, Lesson 3)Students will be able to discover the facts about teen pregnancy; consider the emotional risks of teen sex; learn about sexual transmitted diseases. (Choosing the Best Way, Lesson 4)Students will be able to discover why abstinence is the best WAY; examine the facts about “safe sex”; decide how to respond to the abstinence pledge. (Choosing the Best Way, Lesson 5)Students will be able to practice how to respond to peer pressure; learn how to set personal boundaries.
