--NORTHWEST IOWA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA WILL PRESENT its annual Spring Concert on Tuesday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the BJ Haan Auditorium. NISO will pay tribute to one of the most popular composers of all time – Tchaikovsky!  In a concert that features all music by Tchaikovsky, Anthony Arnone, professor of cello at the University of Iowa, will join the orchestra for a virtuosic performance of Variations on a Rococo Theme.  One of the highlights of the program will be the passionate Symphony No. 5, full of despair, romance, and triumph, featuring the powerful brass section of NISO.  The program will also include the well-known “Waltz” from Sleeping Beauty.  As in the past, this Spring Concert will also feature the announcement of the 2015-2016 Season of the Northwest Iowa Symphony Orchestra!  Season tickets for next year will be offered that evening for a special discounted price. --JUSTICE FOR ALL WILL BE HOSTING A “VOLUNTEER NIGHT” for people to come check out what it would mean to volunteer at JFA. There will be pizza, time to meet the staff, and a tour. Whether you are interested in volunteering daily, weekly, monthly, or just once, all your questions will be answered. Come join us! All ages welcome. Tuesday, April 7 from 6:30-8pm. Come and go as you please!

--THE NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) SUPPORT GROUP will meet in the Fireside Room of Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7. Jennifer Plueger will share information about the Hope Haven Key to Success program. Individuals and family members coping with mental illness are invited to join us. --VBS FUNDRAISER SUPPER will be held on Wednesday, April 8 from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Ireton Community Center. Sioux County Pork Producers will be grilling pork loin and we will also be serving cheesy potatoes, macaroni salad, oreo salad, drink and ice cream. This is a free will donation event with bake sale items also available. If you are willing to donate your time for set up / clean up or are willing to make a salad for the event, please let Pamela Fedders know! Also, remember that we will be looking for bake sale items! Bake sale items can be dropped off at the Community Center April 7 from 3:30 - 7:00 or April 8 starting at 1:00 p.m.

--UNITY CHRISTIAN ANNOUNCES TWO JOB OPENINGS for the 2015-2016 school year.  Both positions are hourly pay and have start dates in August 2015. 

Book-Keeper – the person hired for this newly created position will handle financial duties in the areas of tuition, lunch, billing.  Unity is seeking a candidate who is comfortable with financial activities.   An estimated 20 hours a week is budgeted with some flexibility for summer hours.

Advancement Executive Assistant – the person hired for this newly created position will work closely with the school administration to work on two key areas:  school enrollment growth and donor relationships. Unity is seeking a creative and technological savvy candidate for this position.  An estimated 20 hours a week is budgeted with some flexibility for summer hours.

--NISYO SPRING CONCERT - Come to the B.J. Haan Auditorium on Saturday, April 11 at 4:30 pm for the Spring Concert presented by the Northwest Iowa Symphony Youth Orchestra.  This concert will feature works by Telemann, Haydn, Dvorak, Bernstein, and more.  Directed by Dr. Bradley Miedema, NISYO consists of middle and high school string students from the surrounding area. Don’t miss this exciting FREE concert! 

--REHOBOTH CHRISTIAN SCHOOL INVITES YOU to a true southwest experience on Saturday,

April 11 at 6:30 pm at the Dordt College.  Enjoy a Navajo weaver, Native flute, music by members of the Rehoboth High School Choir, and a presentation by superintendent Carol Bremer-Bennett.  During this free dinner, you will be able to hear more about Rehoboth’s goal of building a new high school.  Rehoboth is looking for table hosts. Hosts will be given 8 tickets to issue to interested family and friends. The final concert of NISO’s Symphonic Colors season promises to be a memorable night with distinguished guests, Rhythm & Brass. In this concert, Rhythm & Brass will incorporate music by musicians as diverse as Josquin Des Prez, Pink Floyd, John Coltrane, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Duke Ellington, weaving them all into a musical presentation not bound by time, geography or culture. --PAT VANDER POL IS RETIRING FROM JFA and we are hosting a party in her honor. It will take place on May 15 from 6:30-9:30pm at Calico Skies Winery. --MINN-I-KOTA YOUTH NETWORK IS LOOKING TO HIRE a part-time Youth Coordinator for 20 hrs a week. Main responsibilities are Ministry administration, facilitate events, coordinate summer ministry travel, and support youth group & leaders. Some travel is required.
