The instructional designer, is responsible for designing, planning, and the development of online, on-ground and hybrid courses; monitoring the course development process to meet course offering deadlines; monitoring course integrity as it relates to subject matter; reviewing course design maps; reviewing courses for subject matter, writing, editing and assessments; collaborating on revisions and continuing course development and maintenance. This position also provides pedagogical support and training for faculty in instructional design.QUALIFICATIONSMust have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a strong desire to serve others and a commitment to being a faithful steward of university resources.Must be committed to the mission of Huntington University as a comprehensive Christian College dedicated to educating men and women to impact our world for Christ.Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Information Technology/Science, or related field required, Master’s degree preferredMinimum of 3 years' experience in instructional development, educational technology, and project management. Experience with a variety of online educational technologies and media.Experience in development and delivery of workshops and individual faculty consultation.Provide technical support for faculty for specific applications (ex. Moodle, Zoom, Microsoft Office)Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage and appropriately prioritize multiple projects at a timeExcellent interpersonal skills, with desire to be part of a collaborative teamAptitude for change and bringing in new ideasPositive attitude with a service-minded focusAbility to problem solve and find innovative solutions to problems that arise.Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and mitment to continuous process improvement.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESDesign, or assist in the design, of online, residential and “hybrid” curricula and courses for Graduate and Professional Programs.Remain current concerning online and adult learning theory and trends through professional development (e.g., conferences and reviews of the literature). Provide updates to administrators and department heads on the new theories and trends in distance learning, online learning, and adult learning.Develop and manage strategic plans for instructional design standards for distance learning programs. Apply the appropriate learning theory, instructional theory, and/or applications of media to online instructional scenarios.Collaborate with IT and other staff on the implementation, administration, and integration of the university’s LMS (Moodle) for online courses.Collaborate with the program directors to develop course review and revision schedules.Collaborate with program directors to develop new online programs and new course offerings.Identify areas of weakness in created courses and employ strategies for improvement. Take appropriate steps to address any problems noted through revision and, when necessary, re-development. Remain current with and have a thorough understanding of the latest industry technology tools and trends in online education and implement improvements. Create course development schedules so that course production is tracked, and notification of upcoming courses and anticipated release dates can be communicated to others.Work with new faculty to train on LMS and other technology, including course development, preparing for course start date, course maintenance, submitting grades, and course evaluations.Work with all graduate and professional program faculty throughout the term and session to offer support, encouragement and trouble shoot any issues with the course that they or their students may experience.Oversee subject matter expert contracts/agreements to ensure timely completion of anize webcasts, information sessions, instructor orientations, and special events.Establish and maintain files for online courses.Gather assessment data from LMS as requested by program directors.Manage completion of pre-delivery checklist with faculty.Collect course evaluation from both students and faculty. Monitor copyright compliance and continue to update the university on compliance standards.Provide instructors with strategies of how technology can be used to achieve course expectations.Provide regularly scheduled software training use for faculty (ex.
