The Spokane area has many dance schools. Please refer to the Dance Instruction listing in the Yellow Pages. Listed there are dance troupes that perform regularly.

Academy of Dance, 14214 E. Sprague, 922-3023. Spokane Valley's premier classical ballet academy offering classical ballet programs for all ages. Academy of Dance is the home of Spokane Youth Ballet.

Baharat!!, 535-7101. Productions for any type of audience, from the casual party to the concert hall. Baharat!! celebrates the diverse cultures and regions of the Middle East through music, colorful costuming and dance.

Ballet Arts Academy, 109 W. Pacific, 838-5705. School of dance with classes for all ages, classical ballet and contemporary.

Ballet Classique, 455-4528. Ballet Classique provides the opportunity to learn the discipline and art of classical ballet for ages 3 to adult, from beginning to advanced levels.

The Dance Center of Spokane, 1407 E. 57th Ave., 448-2464. For ages 3 to adult, teaches many styles of dance including classical ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, gym and ballroom. Resident non-profit ballet company "Spokane Ballet Ensemble" performs at grade schools and charitable events.

Haran Irish Dancers. A touring troupe of dancers ages six to 60, the Haran Irish Dancers perform energetic shows all over the country. Join as a new student or book the dancers for an event.

HYPER-Formance Jazz Dance Club, 448-5423. From four to 84, dancers learn all styles and create an original musical every year performed at the Bing Crosby Theater. Low cost, high values, fun for entire family.

Inland Northwest Dance Association, 927-0972. Non-profit organization promoting the art of dance. Each year, INDA plays host to a two day Fall Dance Workshop as well as DanceFest Spokane bringing professional dance companies to the Inland Northwest.

Nizana and Desert Silk Dance Company, 847-4566. Performing Middle Eastern influenced dance styles locally and regionally. Consultation, workshops, and performances.

Northwest Highland (Scottish) Dancers, 5521 N. Wall, 879-3352. Certified instructors offering traditional highland dance lessons for ages 2 1/2 - adult. Performance and competition opportunities are available.

Silver Spurs International Folk Dancers, 533-9966. Youth dance troupe that travels throughout the Inland Northwest and abroad, sharing traditional folk dance from U.S. and worldwide cultures in public, private, and community service performances. Instruction includes cultural education, dance and stage skills.

Simply Dance Studio, 820 W. Sprague, 892-1480. Full spectrum dance studio offering dance lessons and social dancing in Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Jazz,, Hip-Hop, Tap, Ballet, Creative Movement, Yoga, Belly Dancing and Acting. Additionally, the studio offers "Saturday Night Salsa" with lessons prior.

Spokane Area Square and Folk Dancers, 1901 N. Sullivan, 979-2607. Spokane Area Council is the governing body for the twenty-seven square, round, and clogging dance clubs in the Spokane area.

Spokane Youth Ballet, 922-3023. Spokane Youth Ballet's goal is to produce a professional quality ballet performance in Spokane.

Theater

Blue Door Theatre, 815 W. Garland, 747-7045. Performances and improv classes for youth and adults. The troupe is available for corporate events, college shows, emcee, workshops, and parties, and the theatre for rent. .

Eastern Washington University Department of Theatre, 201 Theatre, Cheney campus, 359-2459. The department presents three productions per year, plus summer theatre for youth. ewu.edu/cale/programs/theatre.xml

Ignite! Community Theatre, 10814 E. Broadway, 795-0004. A volunteer community theatre with diverse opportunities, including a Booklight Readers' Theatre, Living History Program, annual Haunted House and fully-produced shows.

Interplayers Theatre, 174 S. Howard, 455-7529. Founded in 1980, Interplayers is Spokane's resident professional theatre. Interplayers collaborates with national stage and TV/film talent and regional talent to produce dynamic and innovative productions.

Spokane Civic Theatre, 1020 N. Howard, 800-325-SEAT. A community theatre, one of the oldest in the country, performs throughout the year on two stages. Spokane Civic Theatre Academy offers classes and camps for adults and youth year round.

Presents two annual, main-stage productions, a One-Act Play Festival, touring performances, solo theatre, and a concert of dance each spring. Allegro-Baroque and Beyond, 455-6865.Allegro is our region's period music organization, specializing in music of the Baroque, Classic, and Romantic eras. They produce a series of concerts at the Bing Crosby Theater, a series of concerts in Historic Homes, and the Royal Fireworks Festival and Concert.

American Guild of Organists, Spokane Chapter, 208-661-1743. Chapter of approximately seventy members located in Spokane, Washington. Provides training, enrichment and support for area organists and organ students and sponsors concerts in a variety of venues.

Clarion Brass Ensemble, 489-4633. Featuring the unique compositions and arrangements of William Berry, a twelve-piece brass ensemble that plays an exhilarating range of styles, dynamics, and colors.

Connoisseur Concerts, 800-325-SEAT. Presents annual Northwest Bach Festival, Mozart on a Summer's Eve, as well as additional performances in Spokane parks and other garden venues.

Inland Northwest Bluegrass Association, 208-691-8866. INBA is an all-volunteer organization that seeks to build public awareness of bluegrass music in the area through concerts, festivals, jam-sessions and other events.

Jazz Guitar Society of Spokane, 747-2200. A non-profit educational organization dedicated to bringing world class jazz guitar educators and performers to Spokane. Weekly classes offered for beginning jazz guitarists and monthly events for our membership in addition to the world class guitarists we bring in every other month on average.

MasterClass Jazz Orchestra (MCJO), 922-4784. High School musicians and vocalists perform with professional musicians to provide the region's best advanced jazz training and performance platforms for students looking to enhance their musical knowledge and accelerate their musical knowledge and music careers.

Project Joy, 535-0584. Organization composed of entertainers 50 years or older providing entertainment for care centers, assisted living facilities, retirement homes, schools, and special events.

Spirit of Spokane Chorus, 218-4799. A cappella group that performs four part harmony in the barbershop style. Throughout the year, the group offers fun harmonies at events from Christmas caroling with Santa, to entertaining audiences at variety shows, to singing the National Anthem for outstanding athletes from around the nation. They are a community-based chorus that invites women singers to become a part of their exciting journey.

Spokane All-City Jazz Ensembles, 939-0297. Through ensembles, classes, private instruction, guest artists, master classes, and performances, students in the AllCity Jazz Program have many opportunities to grow and learn. The high school program has a four concert season and the middle school program has a two concert season.

Spokane Jazz Orchestra, 800-325-SEAT. For over 30 years, this 17-piece big band has been the flagship ensemble of the Spokane Jazz Society, bringing both performances and education services to the Inland Northwest. Exciting guest artists headline each of four annual concerts at the Bing Crosby Theater.

Spokane String Quartet, 800-325-SEAT. Concert season at the Martin Woldson Theater at The Fox and the Bing Crosby Theater plus concerts in private homes and other venues.

Spokane Symphony, 624-1200. The largest and most active professional performing arts organization in the Inland Northwest, the Spokane Symphony provides more than 50 professional performances each season.
