Michigan Geological Repository for Research and Education (MGRRE)Health and Safety ProtocolsEffective September 3, 2020Facility opening times: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday – FridayWe are open for visitors by appointment only.Facility occupancy regulations: Room occupancy limits are posted throughout the MGRRE building. Social Distancing (maintaining 6’ or more from others) shall be practiced at all times while in the building. Face coverings are required in all common areas. Hand washing and use of disinfecting wipes are required when entering and leaving individual workspaces. MGRRE staff and employees must complete the WMU health questionnaire every day before entering the building. Entry is approved only if they receive a green “cleared” badge. Employees and staff members who do not receive a green badge must immediately notify their supervisor and may not return to work until any issues are addressed.Visitors must complete the visitors’ log on a clipboard in the building lobby, entering their names, phone numbers and times of arrival and departure. An employee will ask all visitors to verbally respond to the following questions (drawn from the WMU health questionnaire):Do you have any of the following symptoms (not due to a chronic condition)? Fever, chills, cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, muscle aches, diarrhea, severe fatigue, nasal congestion, loss of sense of taste or smell?Have you had a Covid-19 test in the past 10 days that was positive?Does a member of your household have a confirmed Covid-19 infection?Are you currently avoiding shared spaces because you are ill or because you have been directed by your medical provider or public health official to quarantine?Entry will be allowed only if all the above questions are answered with “No.”When visitors are examining samples or paper records, they must wear face coverings and disposable gloves.
