[pic] Notes from the Editor!

The November meeting held Tuesday (11-14) was a success considering that we competed against opening day for deer hunting season and an Illumination Engineers Society meeting. Add the cold, snowy weather and it was a pleasant surprise to see 17 people show up for the meeting. Note that 11 of these attendees were first timers or those that haven't been to our meeting in a long time. Thank you all for showing up!

There was an introduction and unanimous voting in favor of proposed officers that will help lead the chapter for the next term:

Ed Cox, CEM will be President, replacing Brian

Revels for a 1 year term.

David Everest, Ph.D., CEM will be Vice President

Replacing Debra Hallett for a 2 year term.

Keith Willis, Ph.D., CEM will continue as Secretary

for a 1 year term.

Paul Dobry, CEM will continue as Treasurer for a

2 year term.

There are several Committee Chairperson openings available including Awards, Nominations, New Technologies and Training, Scholarship, Membership and Attendance, and Website Administration. Let one of the Board Members know of your interest or recommendation(s).

Our chapter earned a national AEE award for "Best Overall Chapter Performance". I accepted on behalf of our chapter noting that we were the second start up group for this area and we were determined not to (again) go through the embarrassment of fading away due to lack of interest. This award was given to Brian Revels at our November meeting for his hard work in pulling us together and keeping the EMAEE chapter alive during the past four years. Congratulations Brian!!

I need your help with e-mail addresses. The following keep returning error codes so if you know of the correct address or have new ones to add, please let me know. The ones in error are: Lester.E.Slocums@, llingar@, mpaschke@, dhallett@, hvacati@, redolley@ , salzoma@, dukelgrang@, artgrace@, bholl88919@, jpaengr@aol. com, jsbarrie@, rvilla@, phaseliner@, YesEnergy@, Chadclay@ , doco@, stevemarke@aol. com, bharper59@, pziemba@cochranesupply .com

Note our new year 2001 meeting dates listed within this newsletter and please mark your calendars to attend. Again, thanks for supporting your local chapter of the AEE.

The World Energy Engineering Congress was a success this year in Atlanta. Besides the 61 sessions, attendee luncheons, pre-show educational seminars, awards banquet, Hall of Fame awards, and the expedition itself, there were eight other shows and conferences related to our field of interest, going on at the same time. The WEEC for 2001 will be conducted October 24th - 26th.
