MLA Style (10 points)

• Overall List (2 points)

o For 2 points:

▪ There are at least 10 sources

▪ Ordered alphabetically per MLA style

▪ Hanging indent for each entry

o For 1 point

▪ Everything for 2 points, except one of the following:

• There are at least 8 sources, but not 10

• There is not hanging indent

• The order is incorrect

• Individual entries (8 points)

o 8 points

▪ All elements required for the MLA citation are present for each entry (including date of access for electronic documents)

▪ All MLA style guidelines are followed: punctuation, underlining, quotations marks, date format, the order in which the elements are presented, etc. are all correct.

o Points will be deducted on the following scale:

|1-2 punctuation/style errors in a specific citation or two. |-0.5 |

*A minor element is an element which should be present, but does not impede my ability quickly identify and find the source you are citing. Ex: page numbers, date accessed, date of publication. The URL for a website

** The major elements would be Author, Title and Source Title. Obviously some items do not have an author and others will not have a both a title and source title.

*** No grade on this section will go below “0”

Bonus Points for Web Site Presentation:

You can get +1 added to the grade (up to a maximum of +3) on this assignment for any of the following. Bonus points will not raise your score above 100%

• You have one or more photographs on your web page of your neighborhood/ethnic group

• You have one or maps on your web page that relates to your neighborhood/ethnic group

• It is clearly indicated how the photographs on your page are relevant to something you spoke about in you podcast

• It is clearly indicated how the maps on your page are relevant to your podcast.
