MLA FORMAT How to Cite Articles and Essays Reprinted in the GALE LITERARY CRITICISM Publications

and the LITERATURE RESOURCES FROM GALE Database

The Gale literary criticism volumes contain reprinted articles, essays and reviews from a variety of scholarly publications. Much of this material is reproduced in the online database, Literature Resources from Gale. When citing a source reprinted in either the Gale literary criticism print collection or the Literature Resources from Gale database, document the information for the original work and then cite the information for the Gale publication in which it was reprinted.

The citation formats shown here are based on guidelines from the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers, 7th edition, 2009, section 5.5.6. Additional MLA format guides are available at . On the Works Cited page use a hanging indention format and double-space the citations. Single spacing was used here to save space.
