TOPIC: Dual Enrollment Credit – Television and Media Production II
BACKGROUND:
Television and Media Production II is currently offered as for two high school credits. Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) has reviewed our course program, course syllabus, and teacher credentials. The review conducted by NOVA has determined that Television and Media Production II is eligible for Dual Enrollment Credit.
Program of Studies Description:
Course: Television and Media Production II
Grade: Grades 10–12
Credit: 2 credits
Prerequisite: Television and Media Production I
Course Description: Students continue to master the phases of the production process, and focus on the television studio and new media applications of video production skills. They learn multi-camera studio set-up for live-to tape productions and gain experience in the operation of studio and control room equipment at the on-site television studio. In addition, students explore occupational opportunities in the areas of video, television, and new media as well as internships, apprenticeships, and post-secondary prospects. Students take the Workplace Readiness Skills exam.

RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the 2013-2014 Program of Studies be revised to allow eligible students to enroll in Television and Media Production II for dual enrollment credit.
