2015 Job Postings and Salaries
Throughout this year, BizVoice? has provided job posting information through a partnership with Burning Glass, a Boston-based organization focused on developing technologies for matching people with employment. Previous issues looked at 2014 postings, baseline and specialized skills, certifications and internships.
The chart below analyzes 2015 postings (through mid-July) with a focus on metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs). We list the 10 MSAs that are contained entirely within Indiana. The Chicago (Northwest Indiana and Wisconsin) and Cincinnati (Southeast Indiana and Kentucky) MSAs include portions of three states. The South BendMishawaka and Evansville MSAs incorporate counties in Michigan
and Kentucky, respectively. Statewide, only 18% of total postings for the first six-plus months
of the year featured salary information. A similar percentage was true for each MSA. The available salary data was broken down into four categories. We list the percentage of postings that identify salaries above $75,000 and below $35,000 ? the two largest categories in each MSA. In addition, there is a mean (or average) salary column.
