MINUTES, HENDERSON CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING, WEDNESDAY, JANAUARY 18, 2017

Meeting called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Mayor Paul Menne at the community meeting room. Present were council members Randy Tiegs, Robyn Geldner, Kelly Brain and Jim Wartman. Also present were Police Chief Karl Haugen, Daryl Radde, Eileen Brandt and Troy Koester.

ALL NEWLY ELECTED OFFICIALS (Mayor Menne and Council Members Geldner and Wartman) HAD PREVIOUSLY TAKEN THEIR OATH’S OF OFFICE

Motion Tiegs, seconded Braun to approve minutes from the December 21, 2016 meeting. Motion carried.

New Police Chief Karl Haugen reported on monthly activities and discussed how things would proceed going forward and vehicle and equipment maintenance..

Daryl Radde, Director of Emergency Services for Ridgeview Medical provided and overview of how the new ambulance service is currently working and plans for the future. Ridgeview currently serves other communities adjacent to Henderson and plans to continue that coverage and relationship. Radde will keep the Henderson City council informed as things move forward.

City Administrator reported on activity report, Wi-Fi project status, Tap sidewalk, trail (submitted January 13, 2017) handicapped access grant from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, HHPC hearing set for February 8 and the MNDOT flood mitigation project.

Motion Tiegs, seconded Braun to approve the Amendment to the Joint Powers agreement (section 4.2) as it related to composition of membership. Motion carried.

Tiegs reported on MRVPUC meeting and 2017 budget and a discussion was held to hold a joint meeting with the City of Le Sueur. Motion Tiegs, seconded Geldner to hold a joint meeting with the City of Le Sueur either February 7 or 8 preferably in Henderson at a time to be determined to discuss Minnesota River Valley Public Utilities Commission. Motion carried.

Motion Braun, seconded Geldner to approve the December monthly report. Motion carried.

Motion Braun, seconded Geldner to adopt Resolution 2017-01 approving bingo at the fire hall for the Eskimo Days’s February 4, 2017. Motion carried.

Motion Wartman, seconded Braun to approve the appointments as presented for 2017. Motion carried.

Motion Tiegs, seconded Braun to continue the Lawn Service Agreement with Henderson Lawn Care for 2017 (Jerry Gilman). Motion carried.

No changes in rates or city council salaries for 2017.

Motion Wartman, seconded Braun to approve the revised meeting schedule; motion carried.

Mayor Menne adjourned the meeting at 8:45 P.M.
