-131445-51117500NEW YORK CITY PAID SICK AND SAFE TIME POLICYProvide a copy of this document to all employees at hire and document in KSN.In addition to this notice, also administer the NYC Paid Sick & Safe Leave Employee Notice (e1019).OverviewThe New York City Earned Sick and Safe Time Act covers employees who work in New York City more than 80 hours per calendar year. A calendar year is defined as January 1 to December 31.New York City’s Earned Sick and Safe Time Act requires employers to provide employees working in New York City paid hours to take time off from work. Paid sick and safe time may be used for:Your personal illness, injury or health condition, or to take care of a family member (including domestic partners) with an illness, injury or medical appointment. Closure of your place of business or child’s school/place of care by order of a public official for health reasons.Obtaining services from a domestic violence shelter, rape crisis center, or other shelter or services program.Participation in safety planning, temporarily or permanently relocating, or other actions to increase the safety of you or your family member(s) from future family offense matters, sexual offenses, stalking, or human trafficking.Meeting with a civil attorney or social worker to obtain information and advice on, or to participate in any criminal or civil proceeding.Filing a complaint or domestic incident report with law enforcement.Meeting with a district attorney’s office.Enrolling children in a new school.Any other actions necessary to maintain, improve, or restore the physical, psychological, or economic health or safety of yourself or a family member or to protect those who associate or work with you.Notice to Employee Kelly Services allows employees to accrue paid sick and safe time, this means that for every 30 hours you work, you will earn an hour of sick and safe time. Sick and safe time accrual is capped at 40 hours per calendar year. You will be able to use up to 40 hours of accrued sick and safe time each year and can use sick and safe time in one hour increments. You will be able to carry over up to 40 hours of accrued unused time on an annual basis but are limited to using only 40 hours per calendar year. Kelly Services does not pay employees for any accrued unused sick and safe time at the end of the calendar year. For planned and unplanned absences from your assignment where you wish to use sick and safe time please contact your Kelly Representative as soon as practicable. Refer to your paystub for your sick and safe leave accruals, usage and balance to determine the amount of sick and safe time available to you.Kelly Services may require reasonable documentation that the time is being used for reasons consistent with the Earned Sick and Safe Time Act.QuestionsFor more information, contact your Kelly Representative. ................
