Hansen.The city’s historic Dick Baas Memorial Park (Windmill) has picnic tables and a grill available for public use. SEWER AND WATER To be set up with Water/Sewer Billing please contact City Hall to set up account (A thru E.) This must be done within 72 hours of occupancy per city Ordinance. (a) New Homeowner Sewer/Water Application Fee $50.00 (non-refundable) to be paid at time of application for water and sewer. Rental Properties: Under city ordinance water and sewer bills are mailed to property owner of Rental properties. (b) Each home has been installed with a remote read water meter. The city reads each meter on the last day of each month.(c) Sewer and Water Billing payments are due no later than the 30th of each month, after this date late fees will be applied. If late fees are not paid they will be forwarded to next billing. Water & Sewer bills can be either mailed or put in the drop box located outside city hall.(d) If payment does not reach the city hall by the due date a disconnection notice will be sent, the homeowner will then have 10 days to make a full payment along with any late/administrative fees, if payment is not received after 10 days your water service will be disconnected for nonpayment. If your water service is disconnected a $250.00 reconnect fee must be paid along with the delinquent amount in full. The city does not accept partial payments on overdue bills.(e) There is minimum rate charged of $24.00 whether water & sewer is being used or not. (Sewer and Water Rates are updated from time to time per city ordinance). Methods of Payment: Check/Cash only. The city does not take credit/debit cards. The city does have Water and Sewer Access Charges (SAC & WAC). These charges are for any new built homes or businesses. Mail Delivery: in order to receive mail at your home in Pease, you must contact the Milaca Post Office (320 983 3229) to set up mail delivery. Post office is located at 230 2nd Avenue NW Milaca.BUILDING PERMITS: Building permits are required in the city. Permits are needed for any type of building, replacement of doors, windows, roofing, siding, remodeling, decks, major appliance replacement (i.e.,furnace, plumbing, electrical), etc. If unsure if you need a permit for a project please call the Building Inspector before you start a project. To contact the city building inspector you can go to the city’s website at and click “City Departments”, click Building Inspections. There you can contact the building inspector, get information or print off building permit, etc.ORDINANCES The city has ordinances in place for Nuisance (Health & Safety), Noise, Curfew, Animals, Sewer/Water, Zoning, Vehicles, Signs, etc. Any questions about the ordinances or the town please contact city hall. Business in a residential zone require a Conditional Use Permit Application.Speed limits are 30 mph maximum throughout the city, unless posted or pedestrian/children are present or in front of the school, which is then 15 mph. The city works closely with the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Department on Drug and Traffic issues. Quad runners, dirt bikes, go carts, snowmobiles or any unlicensed motor vehicle are not allowed on any city street at any time, the only time that an unlicensed motor vehicle is allowed to use city streets is to access a sanctioned trail. If you do have to use a city street, the speed limit is then 15 MPH Maximum.
