ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR SENIOR COLLEGE PROGRAM

Graduates of the A.A. in Liberal Studies degree from Bronx Community College (BCC) will qualify for admission into the CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS) Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies if they have maintained a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 and are in good academic standing at BCC. In addition, applicants must have a grade of C or better in freshman composition, its equivalent, or a higher-level English course, Applicants will follow the standard admissions process, which includes completing a transfer application.

BCC graduates will be awarded 60 transfer credits towards the bachelor's. Upon matriculations into the B.A. program in Liberal Studies, students will be required to fulfill electives and major requirements specified on the following pages.

Total transfer credits granted toward the baccalaureate degree: 60

Total additional credits required at the senior college to complete baccalaureate degree: 60

Total credits required to complete the baccalaureate degree: 120

COURSE OUTLINE AND TRANSFER REQUIREMENTS: BCC graduates who complete the Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree in Liberal Arts will receive 60 credits toward the Bachelor of Arts (B.A) degree in Liberal Studies at CUNY SPS.

Procedures for reviewing, up-dating, modifying or terminating agreement:

The Academic Director and Department Chair from both programs will review the agreement annually. They will be expected to review student retention, progress to graduation including transitions between prerequisite and follow-on courses, degree completion, and GPA. Modification or termination of this agreement requires the approval of both Chief Academic Officers of both institutions.

Should the agreement be modified or terminated, the CUNY School of Professional Studies shall honor the terms granted to students who have already transferred into the B.A. in Liberal Studies for a period of four years or graduation, whichever comes first.

The CUNY School of Professional Studies Registrar and the Liberal Studies Academic Director shall produce reports of the metrics identified above as well as those suggested in the University's Annual Performance Management Program, which will be circulated to the following groups:

o At CUNY SPS: Dean, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Liberal Studies Consortial Faculty, Associate Dean for Administration and Finance, Associate Dean of Student and Community Affairs, Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management and Admissions.

o At BCC: Chief Academic Officer, Associate Provost, Director of Student Services, Director of Career Services, and Director of Admission and Advisement.

The CUNY School of Professional Studies and Bronx Community College will publicize this opportunity for students in print and web-based materials and in marketing information. Additionally both institutions will provide information to their own recruitment staff members as well as staff at the University Office of Admission Services.
