CIVIL RIGHTS

This is a survey of civil rights law, emphasizing the process of making laws to protect federal civil and constitutional rights and bringing claims to vindicate those rights. We will focus primarily on 42 U.S.C. § 1983 and Bivens, the vehicles for bringing challenges to laws and governmental conduct that violate the Constitution and federal law. ................
