For the past 30 years, Deporter worked in high-profile positions at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Currently, she works as the State Survey Agency Director, Branch Manager of the Quality Evaluative Systems Branch at the NC Division of Health Service Regulation. Previously, she worked in Charlottesville, VA at University of Virginia in a similar health service regulation role. Deporter was raised in Jackson County, NC, where she was raised as Cynthia Hall. In 1981, she married Thomas Deporter. While the two are not longer married, our searches have not yielded matches to a divorce, and we are unsure if it exists in Virginia, Tennessee, or somewhere in North Carolina. She is not the Cynthia H. Deporter who resided in Cumberland County through 2007 who moved to Florida and died in 2011, which eliminates her as the subject of at least two divorces in Cumberland, a bankruptcy filing, an eviction, and multiple liens. She was the subject of a speeding ticket in Granville County in 2007 and for illegally passing an emergency vehicle in 2019. The former charge was reduced, and the latter was not prosecuted in Johnston County.Deporter moved to Granville County in 2006 and resides in the same house she purchased there. Previously, she resided in a condominium in Wake County. All property taxes on her home are current and were paid early. She received discounts in all records dating back to at least 2009. She and her brother Frank were deeded property from their parents in Jackson County in 1999 (land owned by family members dating back to 1971). Property taxes are also current on the parcel in Jackson County, but they are sent through her brother, Frank. As a candidate, Deporter raised about $25,000 in contributions. She initially faced some challenges accurately reporting her campaign-finance numbers. An audit showed problems with her detailed summaries, and a $50 penalty assessed on July 2, 2020 was waived as a first offense. At the close of the second quarter reporting period, Deporter disclosed about $20,000 cash on hand. Background and BiographyIdentifying InformationName:Cynthia Hall DeporterDOB:June 24, 1958Address:3759 US Highway 15Oxford, NC 27565Family: Thomas Elton Deporter (former husband)BiographyThe following biography was taken from:Cindy Deporter was born in Sylva, North Carolina.
