|Least Restrictive Behavioral Interventions . The Utah State Office of Education has put online its series of 'Least Restrictive |

|Behavioral Interventions'. The page contains a very useful collection of 'preliminary strategies' that represent good classroom |

|management and can reduce the likelihood that misbehavior will occur. If students do misbehave, the site also provides two |

|collections of intervention ideas: 'Positive Intervention Strategies' and 'Mildly Intrusive Contingent Procedures'. The |

|expectation is that educators will first try positive interventions and only use the more intrusive techniques if misbehaviors |

|are chronic or more serious. |

Access Center: Improving Outcomes for All Students K-8 The Access Center is a national technical assistance (TA) center funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs to improve educational outcomes for elementary and middle school students with disabilities. The Center works to build the capacity of state educators, TA systems, districts, schools, and individuals to help students with disabilities engage in and learn from the general education curriculum.



Council for Educational Diagnostic Services (CEDS)

CEDS is a division of the Council for Exceptional Children that ensures the highest quality of diagnostic and prescriptive procedures involved in the education of individuals with disabilities and/or who are gifted.



International Reading Association (IRA)

The IRA seeks to promote high levels of literacy for all by improving the quality of reading instruction through studying the reading processes and teaching techniques; serving as a clearinghouse for the dissemination of reading research through conferences, journals, and other publications; and actively encouraging the lifetime reading habit.



National Center on Educational Outcomes (NCEO)

Reading Rockets

Research Institute on Progress Monitoring (RIPM)

RIPM’s goal is to develop a system of progress monitoring to evaluate effects of individualized instruction on access to and progress within the general education curriculum.  The Institute is housed at the Institute on Community Integration and the Department of Educational Psychology, Special Education in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota.  Iowa State University for Science and Technology is a lead collaborator in this research.  It is funded by the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP).
