This will be for the purpose of example only to the students.Project justification is simply identifying the reason for the project's existence on behalf of your company. This is a good example of an effective justification because it is quantifiable and qualitative. Distinct boundaries are set as to what is the expected result of the project so there is no ambiguity.Specific in Scope ItemsYou may have specific objectives for the innovation project that can be identified.Any milestones or goals can be explained as well as any non-goals. Non-goals are items that are specifically not going to be addressed by the project.ExpectationsInnovation challenges submitted will not result in a final product to be provided to the stakeholders. This experience is for how the students can define, discover, develop, and demonstrate innovation challenges by design thinkingRemember that the challenges must coincide with the program outline and schedule. It is best to pick a challenge to submit that would be able to be reviewed for the 10 week duration of the program with the student’s pitch to the company at the end.Design ThinkingThe students will take the innovation challenge as an opportunity to define solutions to that challenge. They will discover how to redefine the norm, leverage team brain power, research, and new solutions. The development is the formulation of the design and how to choose the best solution to present. They can build a prototype, map the process, and improve it along the way ending in a pitch to your company.
