Greetings from the Lorain County Medical Society!

Who are we? We are your doctors. We are the pediatricians who care for your children, the family doctors and internists who are there for you in the prime of your life, and the geriatric specialists who care for the elderly. We are the surgeons who repair, remove, and replace diseased or broken parts whether of the head, neck, bones, eyes, spine, abdomen, heart, or any other organ. We are the Emergency Room physicians who deal with the crisis or the unexpected. We are the cancer, diabetes, heart, kidney, and lung specialists. We are a myriad of other experts dedicated to your health and best outcomes.

The Lorain County Medical Society is also a service organization. We distribute more than $30,000 each year in scholarships to Lorain County Students. We raise funds to support a variety of community needs. We are part of Lorain County.

We are not Mercy Health Partners nor the Cleveland Clinic Foundation nor University Hospitals. We are not Republican nor Democrat. We are independent and politically neutral. While many of our members are employed by the large hospital groups, we advocate for each individual patient. Our goal is to ensure that each patient gets the right treatment at the right time for the right reason. While we cannot

control insurance companies or government policy, we do strive to guide each patient through these confusing times.

Please remember the Lorain County Medical Society when it comes time for you to choose a doctor. Remember that the insurance company does not take care of you, and physician extenders can only act under a doctor's supervision. When looking for care, look for a doctor from the Lorain County Medical Society.

LORAIN COUNTY MEDICAL SCHOLARSHIPS

The Lorain County Medical Scholarship Foundation was developed in 1963 for the purpose of establishing a fund to assist Lorain County students who were preparing for a career in the health or medical allied fields. The concept of a Scholarship Foundation grew out of the Lorain County Society's deep interest in the general health and well being of the residents of Lorain County. The members of the Medical Society wanted to ensure a sufficient number of properly trained and qualified persons to adequately serve the needs of the County.

HISTORY OF ESTABLISHED SCHOLARSHIPS:

The Scholarship Foundation has been the beneficiary of many gifts made in memory of beloved family members or well respected colleagues of the medical community. The Scholarship Foundation includes eleven separate funds plus the General Fund, all of which are earmarked for scholarship grants to Lorain County residents.
