• Design of an innovative wind power recovery system. Received $550,000.00 from the State of Ohio ($150,000.00 from Department of Development, and $400,000.00 cost sharing from State Capital Budget) to construct the first prototype unit of the system at CSU.

Technical Course Developments:

• Developed a graduate level course (Bio Medical, Doctoral level) for the Bio-Medical Engineering Department /Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Course Title: Tissue Mechanics.

• Provided expert witness opinion on behalf of city of Mentor, Ohio, in litigation for discovering design flaws of a wastewater plant screw pump. The case was settled to the satisfaction of city of Mentor based on the provided expert opinion; prior the case went to court.

• Designed a Ten Stage Centrifugal Air Compressor (including the support journal bearings) for the Bessam-Aire Inc., Cleveland, Ohio. This project received the Application of New Technology award from NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS and TECHNOLOGY, Washington D.C., 1991

• Designed a 3 axes motion/force simulator for testing the structural integrity and the wear characteristics of the artificial spine implants. A provisional patent has been applied for this invention in September of 2005

• Designed a Universal Electrophysiology/Ablation Catheter Tester. The device tests the electrical integrity (continuity/leakage) of these catheters in less than one second. Catheters with different shaft diameters (0.040” to 0.100”) and having different electrode spacing can be tested with this device. The device has been patented (Patent Number: 5,552,713)

• Conducted comprehensive kinematics analysis for optimization of the steering mechanism of a series of bi-directional electrophysiology/ablation catheters. The steering mechanism is being used in an EP catheter that has US Patent protection (Pat No.: 5,861,024)
