Job Title: Treatment Associate

Position Summary:

Under the overall direction of the Day Treatment Program Manager, and the immediate supervision of the QP Treatment Specialist and or Teacher, the AP/PP Treatment Associate provides individualized treatment interventions to the client population while maintaining a supportive and therapeutic Day Treatment environment.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Thoroughly and effectively implement the model/curriculum for Day Treatment in order to teach social, behavioral and life skills that contribute to the students’ successful return to a community educational setting. Actively participate in the daily implementation of individualized treatment plans. Implement suggested feedback from QP Treatment Specialist and Teacher, ensuring proper implementation of the treatment plans and interventions.

2. Ensure the safety of students by providing constant monitoring and supervision as well as thoroughly and effectively utilizing Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. Requires the ability to perform physical restraint techniques as part of the agency’s crisis intervention model. Follow each student’s individualized crisis management plan.

3. Assist staff with treatment planning, therapeutic activities and student supervision. Promote active student engagement in treatment. Assist with the implementation of structured and therapeutic activities as necessary.

4. Accurately complete mental health, medical and program documentation in manner consistent with licensure, accreditation, and mental health standards. Complete and maintain other records as needed regarding students progress and activities.

5. Actively participate in the daily maintenance and physical presentation of the treatment facility by ensuring a healthy, safe therapeutic and structured environment and completing responsibilities including, but not limited to, upkeep of equipment, daily cleaning, and recycling.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Displays competence and responsiveness to cultural differences present in both client and staff population.

2. Actively participate in the agency’s Continuous Quality Improvement process. Seeks opportunities to improve the day treatment program in relationship to their areas of expertise.

3. Maintain professional and consistent communication with other members of the day treatment team.

4. Displays an understanding of the individualized approaches needed for different clients.

Reporting Relationship:

Position reports to: QP Treatment Specialist and Teacher for direct supervision and Program Manager for administrative supervision.

Qualifications:

Knowledge/Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field is preferred; a high school diploma / GED/ AA degree with one year of experience; or a combination of experience, skills and competencies that is equivalent. Must meet Associate Professional or Para Professional standards.

Skills/Physical/Working Conditions: Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License and be insurable by Eliada’s carriers. Must successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all phases of an intensive pre-service training workshop that includes physical restraint training and demonstrate proficiency in stated training. Ability to easily and expeditiously climb and descend several flights of stairs, respond to a code, or call for staff assistance in the building or on campus. Must be able to work in a high pressure, high stress environment. Position may experience verbal and/or physical aggression from the client population.
