PRIMARY DOMAIN: Client Services: The full lifecycle of end-user device solutions, including evaluation, configuration, provisioning, training, security, tracking, and support for an end-user computing environment.

STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Under general supervision of the Information Technology Supervisor II (ITSup II), the incumbent will work as a technical lead within the Department of Justice (DOJ) Implementation and Production Services Section (IPSS) in support of the organization’s complex environment which involves the full lifecycle of end-user device solutions evaluation, configuration, provisioning, training, security, tracking, and support of an end-user computing environment. The incumbent is responsible for performing in an independent capacity in the complex open systems functions required to support the applications and the production job development, testing, deployment, and processes. The incumbent administers CLETS message and network table deployments and CJIS-R application deployments.

The duties require the IT Associate to use initiative and independence, be reliable, and complete the work in a timely manner. The incumbent maintains daily interaction and contact with various clients that requires the IT Associate to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports directly to the ITSup II.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work various shifts, weekends, holidays, work overtime and travel when needed. Provide after hours on-call assistance. Smoke-free environment. Ability to sit at a computer for up to eight hours per day; ability to move up to 25 pounds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs complex analytical and administrative functions related to the open systems environments. Provide first-level diagnosis of reported problems and either fix the problem(s) or identify the appropriate staff to direct the problem(s) to.

Technical:

• Develops and maintains encapsulating scripts associated with production processes.

• Independently resolves scheduling issues.

• Administers and maintains version control for the production environment.

• Maintains and updates system processes and procedure documentation.

• Troubleshoots, identifies, and resolves complex processing issues.

• Performs workflow quality assurance.

• Enforces approved naming convention standards.

• Provides technical direction commensurate with the complexity of the project.

• Monitors work in progress and adjusts processes as necessary to meet deliverable schedule.

• Reviews Unix/Tidal Enterprise Scheduler jobs submitted and recommends appropriate modification.

• Identifies and documents the SFTP processes, the workflow, and the appropriate contacts to provide clients access.

• Coordinates SFTP set-up, testing and implementation with client agencies and DOJ.

• Participates in the formal pre-production walk-through process for business rules compliance and procedural completeness for processes being deployed to the production environment.

• Administers CLETS message and network table deployments.

• Administers CJIS-R application deployments.

• Configures, deploys, and maintains end-user devices.

• Performs problem and incident management related to client technologies.

• Analyzes data to identify trends or relationships among variables.

Consultation:

• Advises, directs, and assists DOJ and client agencies on SFTP processes and policies.

• Coordinates and consults with system software units and operations units and provides recommendations for implementing or changing system scripts and schedules.

• Provides analysis and recommendations for naming convention standards changes.

• Reviews, validates, and recommends changes to the Enterprise FTP Policy documentation.

• Conducts end user training related to client technologies.

• Develops end-user training for applications and end-user devices.

Administrative:

25%

• Provides input and document test plans and results.

• Coordinates the deployment install, move, and upgrade.

• Maintains system services and provides the expected customer service.

• Assists in the development of project management plans, tasks, project schedules, and testing and implementation.

• Coordinates, schedules and participates in meetings and prepare meeting minutes.

• Attends meetings, technical demonstrations, and prepare presentations to clients and management.

• Prepares and submits weekly status reports to management.

• Recommends incident control/problem management process improvements. Installs, configures, and/or maintains systems. Documents, designs specifications, installs instructions, and other system-related information.

Planning:
