Primary 6/7 Termly Overview, October – December 2020We are back into full swing and I cannot believe how fast this term is moving! Pupils are enjoying being in class and we are thrilled to be back in the woodland to reinforce learning and build on our co-operative skills. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed our novel study on Wonder and have demonstrated their understanding of the text through a detailed book and movie comparison report. We are continuing with Spirit Walker in class and hope to finish the book before the end of term. I encourage pupils to bring in their own reading book from home, so they can read quietly in between tasks. However, pupils will need to leave the book in their tray until they have finished reading it.Outdoor learning will continue to take place on a Wednesday morning throughout the rest of the term. Please can pupils have the essential gear. Waterproofs and sturdy footwear are required. Pupils can bring in a spare change of clothes if they wish.Football will be every Thursday until the Christmas holiday, so pupils are required to wear a P.E kit.Can I also remind pupils to bring a water bottle, daily. Bottles can be refilled throughout the day in school. In response to the extended school closure, our main focus this session will be on developing pupil knowledge and skills in three key curricular areas – Literacy, Numeracy and Health & Wellbeing. To support learning in these curricular areas, lessons may be planned through an Interdisciplinary Learning Approach.
