After-School Preview

Program start date – September 21st

Welcome to our 2020-2021 VIRTUAL after-school program! We will maintain a virtual program for this school year and will be following FCPS direction to determine if we will be able to offer any in-person programming later in the year. Regardless of where programs are held – we are looking forward to another exciting school year with a wide variety of activities available for our students from 2:30-4:30 pm.

After-School Specifics

• The After-School Program is divided up into two sessions.

o Session 1: 2:30-3:30 (academics, enrichment activities, some clubs/activities)

o Session 2: 3:30-4:30 (clubs/activities)

• There is currently no fee for the after-school program. Some activities may have a fee due to competition registrations, supplies, etc. That information will be communicated by the club sponsor.

• All students will be required to complete an online registration form for the after-school program – coming soon!

• Students will be able to sign up for clubs via google form (coming soon!) and then activities will meet on Blackboard Collaborate Ultra (students will receive a link).

• Most clubs are open enrollment and do not require a pre-registration. As the year progresses, students are welcome to submit the google form (coming soon!) if they are interested in being added to a club.

• Attendance will be taken during every after-school session.

• Teachers will notify students of their after-school availability. Students should make arrangements before the end of the school day if they will be needing support from a specific teacher.

• Encourage your student to get involved in as many activities as possible. After-school is a great time to get extra academic help and/or enrichment, make new friends, and have fun!

• Weekly activity lists can be found on the Rocky Run website, Google Classroom, and Rock News.

• Activities are added as the year progresses. Be sure to check back periodically for updates!
