The Landlord prefers TransUnion since TransUnion is the primary credit bureau for the central United States.
If the tenant does not have a credit history or if the tenant has a poor credit history, the Landlord is verifying that the person co-signing for the tenant does have an acceptable credit history.
Your birth date and social security number are kept confidential since the Landlord is bound under the provisions of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
