POLYGRAPH TESTING FOR THE IDENTIFICATION,

TREATMENT AND MONITORING OF SEX OFFENDERS

(APA Recognized Post Conviction Sex Offender Testing Course)

A forty (40) hour course designed to assist the experienced polygraph examiner:

• In conducting specific and multiple issue exams for the identification of sex offenders;

• In understanding the sex offender and getting confessions;

• In conducting instant offense, instant offense investigative, prior allegation, sexual history, monitoring and maintenance exams for the treatment and supervision of sex crime offenders.

December 13 – 17, 2010

(8AM – 5PM Monday – Thursday; 8AM – Noon Friday)

APA Examination for APA members/applicants at 12:30PM, Friday.

TRAINING LOCATION: Department of Criminal Justice Training, Richmond, Kentucky

LODGING: Dorm rooms at the Department of Criminal Justice Training Center will be at no cost to Kentucky Law Enforcement Officers and retired Kentucky Law Enforcement Officers only.  All others will have to pay $15.00 per night if they elect to stay at that dorm.  Persons interested in reserving a room at the dorm during this training can use the website or call the dorm staff at 859-622-1703

• Walt G. Jones. An APA recognized PCSOT examiner with more than 10 years experience testing convicted sex offenders pre and post conviction.

• Keth Zimmerman-Hicks, Ph.D., LPCC. Sex offender treatment specialist and program administrator.

SEMINAR FEE: $500.00 for course. Lodging, meals & transportation not included.

• A comprehensive understanding of the subject matter areas in BOLD above are considered essential for police and other examiners responsible for conducting examinations of subjects and reported victims of sex offenses. If offenders are not caught, there is little chance they will become “post conviction” sex offenders.

• If special considerations are not taken when testing reported victims of serious sex offenses, one can expect to get a “false positive” (calling a true victim deceptive).
