Dear Parents:

Dear Parents:

With winter fast approaching, there are some reminders about concerning winter clothes.

The Kindergarten classes will go outside every day, weather permitting. That is, if it isn’t snowing heavily, or the temperature isn’t freezing, we will go outside. Please, please, please dress your child in appropriate clothing once the snow comes. This means:

-a winter coat

-a winter hat-NOT a baseball hat

-winter mittens or gloves (the thin ones don’t work well)

-snow pants

-boots

Please make sure your child’s name is on all items. You would be surprised how many pairs of black snow pants we get!

If your child doesn’t have snow pants or boots, s/he will still go outside, but will need to stay on the sidewalk. YOUR CHILD WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO GO OUTSIDE IF THEY DO NOT HAVE A COAT, HAT AND MITTENS. Please let us know if you are in need of winter clothing, and we will do our best to find something for your child.

Winter clothing brings up another point. We only have 25 minutes for recess. At first, it will probably take the children 20 minutes to get everything on. But with time it will get easier and faster. BUT YOU CAN HELP WITH THIS!!!!!! Please work with your child at home practicing zippering, buttoning, etc. As a teacher, we only have 2 hands for all the kids. If s/he can get ready on her/his own, s/he will get more time outside.

Thank you for your help with this!!!!!!

Stacy, and Lou Ann
