|Job Title: SEN and EHCP Coordinator |

|Purpose of job: |

|To assist the SENCO/Learning Support Supervisor in coordinating support for learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring compliance with |

|statutory responsibilities. |

|Responsibilities |

| |

|A SEN Support |

|To support the admissions process for all learners with EHCPs, ensuring that additional needs are understood and that support to be provided is accurately |

|recorded in the EHCP |

|To coordinate learning support in response to EHCP requirements and liaise with external agencies to ensure specialist support and equipment is in place in |

|line with individual EHCPs |

|To support the SENCO in ensuring that the College meets its statutory responsibilities in relation to EHCP learners |

|To coordinate meetings in conjunction with Local Authorities and other agencies as required in relation to admissions and undertake reviews, making |

|recommendations to the SENCO and ensuring that these are timely, with all relevant parties in attendance |

|To liaise with local authorities on behalf of learners and their parents/carers in relation to any concerns affecting learners attendance or progress at |

|college |

|To ensure teaching and support staff in both the Foundation and wider curriculum areas are aware of the support needs of individual learners |

|To communicate effectively with the English and Maths team about the support needs learners with an EHCP |

|To maintain accurate and up to date records in relation to EHCPs and wider departmental data |

|To ensure that paperwork in relation to EHCPs is completed and returned to meet Local Authority deadlines |

|To liaise with tutors/LSAs to ensure SMART targets and progress review information is available prior to EHCP reviews taking place |

|To deputise at external meetings in the SENCO’s absence |

|To assist the Head of Curriculum in developing the college’s Additional Learning Support documentation in line with College and national guidelines, ensuring|

|compliance with audit and funding body regulations. |

|To organise and minute Additional Learning Support team meetings |

|To support the SENCO in effective deployment of Learning Support Assistants, matching staffing resources with individual learner requirements |

|To act as a mentor, giving support to new Learning Support Assistants within the curriculum area |

|To support with arranging dyslexia screening and further testing where appropriate |

|To support the SENCO in coordinating accessing arrangements for learners with additional needs, liaising with the curriculum teams and exams team to ensure |

|appropriate concessions are in place |

|To support the SENCO in responding to JCQ inspection of the access arrangements for exams, ensuring all records are compliant with JCQ regulations |

|B Development of learning support |

|To respond to new curriculum issues affecting programme delivery and support resulting from national development or local learner needs |

|To assist in the development of the college’s Additional Learning Support Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement plan |

| |

|C Administration |

|To contribute to reports as per the College’s Planning and Quality schedule |

|To ensure all EHCP records are accurate, up to date and accessible to relevant staff across the college |

|To carry out general administration duties associated with the post |

| |

|D General |

|To safeguard children and vulnerable adults from harm and to report concerns in accordance with the College’s internal referral arrangements. |

|To foster good relationships and advance equality of opportunity between different groups and eliminate discrimination, harassment and victimisation.     |

|To deal professionally with colleagues and external partners as required. |

|To ensure the confidentiality and security of all the College’s documentation and information. |

|To attend training/refresher courses and meetings as required by the Line Manager |

|To co-operate and take part in the College’s appraisal scheme. |

|To perform such other duties as reasonably correspond to the general characteristic of the post and are commensurate with the level of responsibility. |
