The ASU Developmental Psychology Admissions Committee is interested in learning about your academic achievements, personal background, and professional goals. In particular, we hope to learn more about:

1) Your purpose in applying for doctoral study. For example, please describe your research interests, areas of specialization, and professional goals.

2) Your preparation and motivation for graduate study including research, academic, and work experiences. Please note that this can include areas such as coursework, volunteer work, internships, experience in research laboratories, and teaching.

3) You are encouraged to indicate your specific research interests as well as your fit with Arizona State University and the Developmental Psychology community. Please also identify 1-3 potential faculty mentors from our program whose work your interests align with.

4) Your background, strengths and commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). If applicable, please identify any educational, familial, cultural, economic, and social experiences relevant to your academic journey. For example, you might discuss community outreach; first-generation college status; and leadership and/or community-building experiences. In addition, please discuss how you might contribute to DEIB activities at ASU and beyond to serve educationally underrepresented and underserved segments of society with your graduate education. Importantly, we also hope to learn how you believe ASU and the Developmental Psychology area can help support your goals for DEIB.
