FRIDAY, AUGUST 24

Orientation Information Tent (outside Herrick Chapel) will be available to answer questions from 9am-4pm.

Jerry’s Café (on campus coffee house in Harm A Weber Academic Center, floor 2) reps will be available on campus for you to place funds on your café account!

Larkin Avenue Baptist Church will be at the information tent providing hospitality to our new Judson family guests (that’s YOU) from 9a-2p.

The Judson University bookstore (Lower Level Commons) will be open from 9am-5pm.

The Benjamin P. Browne Library will be open from 8am-5pm.

6:30a-11p JERRY’S CAFÉ OPEN. Harm A. Weber Academic Center, 2nd floor.

9-11am NEW RESIDENT STUDENT MOVE IN/ CHECK-IN. Residence Halls. For New resident students only. This will be your first stop of the day where your JU experience begins! Go ahead and come directly to your residence hall for check in (housing assignments can be located within MyJudson or by contacting the Housing Director at 847-628-1567) and begin the move in process. Resident Assistants (RA’s) and other campus leaders will be assist you as you move in! You’ll also meet your Resident Director (RD)…they are excited about welcoming you to your new home.

11-12:30pm WOMEN’S SOCCER VS ST. AMBROSE. Dawson Field. Judson’s Lady Eagles take on St. Ambrose during their first home game!

11:30am WELCOME TIME. Herrick Chapel. The official kick off of Orientation takes place for all new students and parents! Don’t miss out on important information provided during this session and the opportunity to meet some of the Judson family!

***Students are STRONGLY encouraged to have their ID photo taken and card issued for lunch. If you are unable to have your ID card photo taken and issued before lunch, please make it a priority to have it by 5p today.***

12-1:30pm LUNCH. Dining Hall, Lindner Commons. No charge for new students and guests can pay $7 at the door (cash or check only please).

During the lunch hour today and Monday, representatives from Associated Bank, BMO Harris Bank and JP Morgan Chase will be available to help you with opening an account and other banking needs. Please note: Judson University does not necessarily endorse these businesses, but have their services provided for your convenience.

Sam’s Club and L.A. Fitness will have representatives available outside of the Lindner Commons if you are interested in opening a membership at a discounted price.

12-4pm ADVISING BY APPOINTMENT. Don’t miss instructions on advising during the Welcome Time at 11:30a!

2 -3pm ACADEMIC EXPECTATIONS. Herrick Chapel. All students and parents are required to attend this important informational session where Judson faculty will share about academic life and expectations for new students.

2 -3:30pm MEN’S SOCCER VS. AIB COLLEGE OF BUSINESS. Dawson Field. The six time NCCAAP championship Judson men soccer team take on AIB College of Business.

3:30pm ENGLISH PLACEMENT EXAM. Lindner Tower 3rd floor computer lab. If you have been placed in remedial English and would like the opportunity to test out, please arrive on time.

3:30pm TOUR FOR COMMUTERS. Information Tent outside the Herrick Chapel. Commuters, come tour the campus and get to know commuter hot spots and stay around for some hang out time following the tour with your new commuter friends!

3:30-4:30pm PARENT SESSION. Thompson Center, Thulin Hall. Parents, this session is specifically for you! Come hear from JU staff about Judson and our partnership with your students and you.

4:30-5:15pm TRANSFERRING TO JUDSON U. Thompson Center, Thulin Hall. This session is specifically tailored for those who are transferring from another college or university. You won’t want to miss this seminar about transfer coursework, career services and transitioning to Judson.

4:45-6:45pm DINNER. Dining Hall, Lindner Campus Commons and patio. Families with last names beginning with A-L can plan to arrive starting at 4:45pm and families with last names beginning with M-Z can arrive beginning at 5:30p. No charge for new students and guests can pay $8.50 at the door (cash or check only).

5-7pm CHURCH FAIR AND DESSERT. Upper Level, Lindner Commons. Many representatives from area churches will be here to introduce you to their church. Come and learn how to get connected and involved with a local church! Dessert will be served at the fair, so don’t miss out!

7:15-8:15pm COMMISSIONING CHAPEL. Herrick Chapel. Students and parents, come to this capstone event of move-in day which includes a special message for you from Tory Gum, Vice President for External Relations. Interim President Dr. William Crothers will be in attendance as well! Parents, you won’t want to miss this time of committing your student to their new home and encouraging them on the adventures that lie ahead!

8:15-8:45p FACULTY AND PARENT CONNECT. Lower level, Herrick Chapel. Immediately following the commissioning chapel, Judson faculty and parents are invited meet Judson faculty, ask questions and help us get to know your student more. Don’t miss this great opportunity to connect with the Judson family!

8:30-9:30pm GEN 101: ENTERING JUDSON’S CONVERSATION. Attendance is required! Mentor groups will leave the Chapel together, so make sure to sit tight after it’s over to find out where your mentor group meets! (GEN101 is a course at Judson which all new students are registered for. Attendance for this course is mandatory.)

10-11:30pm RESIDENCE HALL GATHERINGS. Meet your residence life staff in your dorm lounge (Ohio Hall will meet in Herrick Chapel).

SATURDAY, AUGUST 25

12 -1:30pm MEN’S SOCCER VS ST. AMBROSE. Dawson Field. Cheer on the men’s soccer team as they look to defeat St. Ambrose!

1-2pm GEN 101: ENTERING JUDSON’S CONVERSATION. Attendance is required! These groups will meet in the same location as last night. You will be continuing to get to know each other and Judson’s campus and history.

3-10pm CHICAGO NIGHT DINNER. Attendance is required! Meet in Lower Commons with your Mentor Group for this exciting night of exploring Chicago with your group. Free dinner at Chicago restaurant provided! This is a great way to meet more people and make some great memories!

SUNDAY, AUGUST 26

Get ready to meet more of the JU community! Returning students will be moving onto campus today! (

10-11am STUDENT WORSHIP SERVICE. Herrick Chapel. Come and enjoy this student-led worship time and be challenged and encouraged as you begin this new chapter in your life.

12-1pm LUNCH. Dining Hall, Lindner Commons. No charge for new resident students. Guests can pay $7 at the door (cash or check only please).

12-1pm COMMUTER LUNCH AT MAXWELL’S ON RT 31. Commuters…join your JSO Commuter Reps and other Judson commuters at Maxwell’s for lunch before attending the JSO/UM session at 1pm on campus!

1-2pm MEET YOUR JUDSON STUDENT ORGANIZATION (JSO) and YOUR UNIVERSITY MINISTRIES (UM). Thompson Center. Students, this is a DO NOT MISS EVENT! Come learn from the JSO/UM student leaders about how you can get involved with the different committees on campus and/or attend their events.

2-5pm STUDENT CENTER CONNECT. Browne Underground, Lower Level, University Center. Come watch a movie, play pool, ping pong, or just grab some time with your new best friend.

5-6pm DINNER. Dining Hall, Lindner Commons. This will be the first meal charged for new and returning students to your meal plan.

5:45-6:45pm ALL ATHLETE MEETING. Get info from your coaches on the details, but plan on kicking off the year with the rest of the Judson athletes (both new and returning)! Don’t miss out on a great time of fellowship!

7 -8pm FLOOR ESCAPADES. Your RA’s will fill you in on the details! Commuter students are welcome – join your dorm friends for this fun event!

8:30-9:30pm CAFÉ JUDSON. Dining Hall. For new AND returning students. Don’t miss this coffee house atmosphere for both new and returning Judson students to connect after a summer apart. AGAIN, another DO NOT MISS EVENT! Free yummy food provided!

MONDAY, AUGUST 27

The Judson University bookstore will be open from 9am-6pm. The Benjamin P. Browne library will be open from 8am-6pm.

8 -9am BREAKFAST. Dining Hall, Lindner Commons.

9 -9:45am MEETING OF THE MAJORS. Locations will be posted on campus. Attendance is required! Meet with faculty and students in your intended major.

10a-12p GEN 101: ENTERING JUDSON’S CONVERSATION . Herrick Chapel. Attendance is required!

A time of connection followed by a fun way to visit the offices of key people on campus to hear about their area of expertise!

10 -11pm RESIDENCE HALL MEETINGS. Required of all resident students. Wilson men meet in the chapel; Lindner Tower residents meet in the Fitness Center; Volkman residents meet in the Thompson Center’s Performance Hall; Ohio women meet in the Eagle Lounge in Lower Lindner Tower. Followed by individual floor meetings.

Before the end of the day today, review your schedule via MyJudson to be sure that you are familiar with where your class is located and how to get there.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 28

7:15–9:15am BREAKFAST. Dining Hall, Lindner Commons. Bring your ID!

8am CLASSES BEGIN. If you haven't completed registration, avoid fees and finish today! Please log into MyJudson to review your schedule! If you need to make any changes to your schedule, be sure to check with your advisor about changes and adjust your schedule accordingly via MyJudson.

11am-1:15pm JOB FAIR. Upper Commons, Lindner Campus Commons. If you need a job on campus or want to sign up for child care opportunities and additional odd job opportunities throughout the year, be sure to attend. Bring copies of your resume to hand out to potential on campus employers. Meet representatives from various departments and learn about available jobs. Questions? 5:30pm FREE STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN WORSHIP NIGHT. Willow Creek Community Church. Grab your roommate or new friend and head over to Willow for a free worship night featuring Steven Curtis Chapman! Enjoy a bite to eat at Willow’s food court or at Dr. B’s cafe afterwards and get to know your new friends!

9:30pm MOVIE MARATHON UNDER THE STARS. Upper Commons Lawn. Bring your blanket, bug spray, and new best friends for an exciting evening at the movies. Snacks and drinks provided by your JSO.
