Summary of activity:

Children will be making an I have a dream mobile. This is in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Hangers, construction paper, scissors, crayons, glue, hole punch, tape, string.

Step-by-step instructions for completing the activity:

1. Have students cut out five clouds from drawing paper.

2.Have students draw on each cloud a dream they have for their family, school, community, country, or world.

3. Have students write (or dictate to be written) a caption under each drawing.

4. Ask students to write on the back of each cloud (or dictate) one thing they can do to make their dreams reality.

5. Have students hole-punch the top of their clouds, tie a string to each cloud, and hang the clouds from a hanger.

6. Have students cut out and attach with tape two larger clouds to cover each side of the hanger and then write I Have a Dream on the front.
