? The English essay score determines your English course placement. ? The essay is hand-scored by the English Department faculty. After the score is entered into our

system, the results will be accessible by accessing Titans Direct/Student Planning under the "Test Summary" drop down tab. The score will also be mailed to your home address.

The table below provides the corresponding course needed based on the English essay score.

Course Placement ENG 111- English Composition 1 ( 3CR) ENG 007- Writing Skills Review (1NCR)

ENG 022- Elements of Writing (1.5NCR)

ENG 025- Writing Skills (3NCR) No English course may be taken at this time.

Advisement No developmental course needed ? may begin college credit English coursework. Two-week developmental/non college credit course needed before enrolling in ENG 111. Recommended to take during summer or winter session. However, ENG 007 may be taken during the semester in an early start term, followed by ENG 111 in a late start term. Five-week developmental/non college credit course needed before enrolling in ENG 111. Recommended to take during summer or winter session. However, ENG 022 may be taken during the semester in an early start term, followed by ENG 111 in a late start term. Full semester developmental/non college credit course needed before enrolling in ENG 111. Student will need to work with a counselor in the Office of Counseling and Student Success to develop an educational success plan.

NOTES

? Placement Test Exemptions: SAT Score of 540+ Critical Reading/Verbal (taken prior to March 2016) or 590+ (taken March 2016 or later), ACT English score of 23+, PARCC ELA (English Language Arts) score of 4 or 5, or suitable transfer of credit.

? After one week of obtaining the complete results of the Accuplacer Placement Test, students are eligible to retake the entire Accuplacer, or any portion of the test one additional time;the higher score prevails.

? The retake policy includes all Math, English and Technology tests. The retake policy does not include the Language of English Proficiency (LOEP) exam. The fee for retaking the test is $10.00. See Accuplacer retake policy guidelines for more information.
