Remember to indent the first line of a paragraph. You can either hit the Tab button or you can push the space bar 5 times. This handout is a general template for how to present your essay. You should have 1-inch margins for the top, bottom, left side, and right side. You should use a 12-point font and you should double space. When summarizing a source make sure to cite it properly after the end of the sentence like this (Goodmonson 45). Notice that both the last name of the author and the page number are given, and that the period goes on the outside of the parenthesis. To switch sources and paraphrase from a different author then do a citation for the new source (Fredrick 568). To go back to the first source then just cite it again (Goodmonson 45). Every time you paraphrase, summarize, or quote an author you MUST make a citation at the end of the sentence. IF a whole paragraph is summarizing only ONE source then you can just put the one citation at the end of the paragraph. Use the class link when citing work presented in class by your fellow classmates (Team #1) and/or (Team #2) and/or (Team #3).
The essay should be at least five pages of text. Figures or /and tables should be included at the end of the document and referred to by number. Use abbreviations like “Fig. 1” if the figure is referred to in the middle of a sentence and use the full word like “Figure 1” if reference at the beginning of the sentence. The figure number should be included in the caption and the caption should be italicized. For example, “Figure 1: US investment in ….”.
The essay should be send by the due date in pdf format to:
