1. Background

1.1 The requirements and other information in this document are determined annually by consultation between the relevant UOW Faculties' Associate Deans ? Education (Engineering and Information Sciences; Law, Humanities and the Arts; Science, Medicine and Health; Social Sciences), Associate Dean ? International (Business) and UOW College's Academic Program Manager, who initiates the process.

1.2 Final approval of the requirements and other information in the document rests with the relevant UOW Faculties.

1.3 Once approved by the Faculties' Associate Deans the document is submitted to UOW's Strategic Course Development Committee for noting.

2. Purpose

2.1 To document approval by UOW Faculties of the University Entrance Certificate and Special Tertiary Entrance Program Subject Matrix and Progression Requirements.

2.2 This document is not provided to students; they are referred to UOW College and UOW websites containing this information. Therefore, if changes are made to the information in this document they must be reflected in relevant UOW College and UOW websites (including College `Current Students' and `Student Handbook', and UOW Course Finder).

3. Scope

3.1 The Guidelines apply to students entering the University Entrance Certificate and Special Tertiary Entrance Program in 2019.

3.2 The University Entrance Certificate and Special Tertiary Entrance Program are for domestic students. Students are admitted to the Special Tertiary Entrance Program on the basis of equity and academic criteria.

? Stream 4 students with a Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health Bachelor of Science offer who meet UOW progression requirements receive 6 points of unspecified UOW credit transfer, for successful completion of Session 3

? Stream 4 students who achieve a mark of 60-64% for FSPW216 must take MATH151 at UOW; students who achieve 65% or better for FSPW216 are exempt from MATH151 at UOW.

7. PROGRESSION TO A UOW COLLEGE HIGHER EDUCATION DIPLOMA COURSE

Students who complete their Foundation Studies Program Extended course but do not meet all progression requirements for their UOW degree course offer may be eligible for the offer of a related UOW College higher education Diploma.

Students can be considered for entry to a Diploma only on completion of all subjects in the relevant Foundation Studies Program Extended Stream.

Each Diploma offers UOW specified credit transfer.

Diploma of Business (2 Sessions)

? Available to Stream 1 students with a UOW Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Commerce offer. ? Eligible students are those who pass all Stream 2 subjects with a minimum result of 50% for each

subject. ? Students who pass all Diploma subjects qualify for the award of the Diploma and entry to the

second year of the Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Commerce at UOW with 48 points of credit transfer (equivalent to one year of the Bachelor).

Diploma of Engineering (2 or 3 Sessions)

? Available to Stream 3 students with a UOW Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) offer. ? Eligibility for entry to the Diploma of Engineering is determined jointly by UOW College and

UOW's Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences. ? Eligible students are those who pass all Stream 3 subjects with a minimum result of 50% for each

subject. ? Students who pass all Diploma subjects qualify for the award of the Diploma and entry to the

second year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at UOW with 48 points of credit transfer (equivalent to one year of the Bachelor).

Diploma of Information Technology (2 Sessions)

? Available to Stream 2 students with a UOW Bachelor of Business Information Systems or Bachelor of Information Technology offer, and to Stream 3 students with a UOW Bachelor of Computer Science offer.

? Eligible students are those who pass all Stream 2 or 3 subjects, as appropriate, with a minimum result of 50% for each subject

? Students who pass all Diploma subjects qualify for the award of the Diploma and entry to the second year of the Bachelor of Business Information Systems or Bachelor of Information Technology or Bachelor of Computer Science at UOW with 48 points of credit transfer (equivalent to one year of the Bachelor).

Diploma of Social Science (2 Sessions)

? Available to Stream 1 students with a UOW Bachelor of Social Science or Bachelor of Arts offer. ? Eligibility for entry to the Diploma of Social Science is determined jointly by UOW College and

UOW's Faculty of Social Sciences. ? Students who pass all Diploma subjects qualify for the award of the Diploma and entry to Session

2 of the first year of the Bachelor of Social Science or Bachelor of Arts at UOW with 24 points of credit transfer (equivalent to one session, or half a year, of the Bachelor).
