Give your best to each task, and be unstoppable" - Ralph Marston. I am a collegiate softball player with the University of Arkansas. I recently completed a summer internship with the New York Mets and during summer 2017 I interned with the MLB Network in Secaucus, New Jersey. Over the past two internships, I had the opportunity to gain experience in MLB operations, MLB business, community outreach, player relations, as well as broadcasting. My ultimate career goal is to work within the MLB industry within the business/operations side or to become an In-Game reporter/host for Major League Baseball. Currently, my desire is to obtain a broadcast/media relations/public relations internship with a major league baseball club or major sport network. I am highly respected among my peers on and off the field due to my work ethic, focus, and commitment to excellence. I am viewed as a leader who encourages growth and success of others. Able to multi task simultaneously, while achieving positive and high-level outcomes in all I do. I am currently an outfielder for the University of Arkansas Women's Softball team. Previous softball accolades include: 2016 Female Athlete of the Year, 2013-2016 Arkansas Democrat All Arkansas Preps Softball team, 2016 United States Premier Southern Region All American, and 2016 Arkansas Wendy's Player of the Year. Obtaining a sport broadcast/media relations internship or an internship within the MLB business and operations/community outreach/public relations with a major league baseball franchise or major sport network, will allow me to gain practical experience and will help put me on a path to reaching my goals for a future opportunity in the field. I am very coachable, team oriented, and responsible. I hope you will consider me for an opportunity to join your team for a 2019 summer internship. I had a very successful 2018 and 2017 summer internship with the New York Mets and the MLB Network and can obtain references from managers, team members and coworkers upon request. I would like to set up a phone interview at your earliest convenience. You may contact me at 501.690.0891 (Phone) or sp038@uark.edu (email). Amongst the four foundations, none best fit the Mets Organization. Coordinated events such as Mets Encourage Kids, Mets Sandlot, Jr. Mets, and the UMP’s Care program. By using my personal strengths, I was able to connect with underprivileged kids, enabling a great experience at Mets Stadium, as well as strengthening the relationship between the Mets Organization and the community. Actively instructed fielding drills during the Mets clinics, working alongside Mets players and coaches.Responsible for hosting multiple foundation members and donors on the field for pre-game Batting practice and player warm ups. By using my communication skills, interpersonal relationship skill, and knowledge for the game of baseball to help reinforce the Mets relationship. Instrumental with working closely with various Mets players initiatives such as, Conforto Cares, Tru 32, and Friends of Flores. Throughout the four programs I used my excellent leadership and team coordination skills, as well as my ability to passionately communicate with kids, families, and military troops. Through these efforts, I was able to build upon the relationship between the Mets players and their initiatives. Assisted in the Mets food and blood drive. Within two days I helped collect five bins worth of perishable food items and interacted with a vast amount of people within the Queens community. Within a day of doing the blood drive, I welcomed over two-hundred people that donated blood and plasma. Conducted research on potentially new Mets initiatives and community partnerships. By doing so, this gives the Mets Organization new outreach initiatives to interact with the community.Personally produced eight new concepts to be potentially implemented into the future. The concepts ranged from environmental initiatives, new experiences at Mets Stadium, and helping those in need shop for school and other important holidays.
