Issuance of Dealer Demo License Plates

Dealer demo plates may be obtained by a duly licensed new or used motor vehicle dealer, wholesaler or Business Disposal Dealer from the County Clerk in the county where said dealership is located, or in Denver County, from the Manager of Revenue. A copy of the license is the authorization to purchase plates from the county. Dealers, wholesalers and Business Disposal Dealer may purchase as many demo plates as needed.

Dealer Full-Use Plates

How many motor vehicles have been sold during the preceding 12 months? ___________________________________

Proof of same will be furnished upon request by agents of the board.

Only those applicants meeting one or more of the following criteria will be authorized full-use plates.

The undersigned applicant is authorized and hereby requests dealer full-use plates in accordance with the following criteria set forth in C.R.S. 42-3-116: Please check those that apply.

Dealers and wholesalers may purchase as many full-use plates as needed if they meet the necessary requirements.

I declare under penalty of perjury in the second degree that the statements made in this affidavit are true and complete to the best of my knowledge.

I further declare that I will comply with all regulations governing the use of dealer plates. I realize that abuse of dealer plates could result in a hearing and loss of plate privileges.

As required by state law, all dealer plates will be returned to the Department of Revenue or its agent if there is the sale or closure of the dealership.

It is understood that dealer plates may be used only on vehicles owned and offered for sale by the dealer or wholesaler. Dealer plates shall not be used on vehicles owned by the dealership/wholesaler, which are commonly used as tow trucks, pickup/delivery vehicles, or other commercial vehicles.
