2008 NRC Summit Technical Guide

Arrival

If you are arriving by car, our address is 1 Olympic Plaza, Colorado Springs, CO 80909. For those who are driving from DIA, the directions are on page 6 of this document. It is about 90 miles.

If you are arriving at Colorado Springs airport:

The driver will be waiting for the participants either inside the airport down the escalator (next to baggage claim) or if the participants do not see a driver inside, a USOC vehicle will be parked out the main entrance, to the right. They will cross the crosswalk and our vehicle waits in the taxi/bus pickup lane just to the right of the airport exit. If there is not vehicle, please call the front desk number, 719-866-4444. IN case that does not work, call Tom Vinson’s cell, 719.660.8536

All participants, whether you are staying on campus or not, must report to the Athlete center, #9 on the complex map, to check in for credentials. If you have not turned your paperwork in, you will need to have it with you at this time. Those who are staying on campus will be in either bldg 83, 85, or 87

Friday Evening

Welcome Dinner ~ Patty Jewett

Vans will be leaving for Patty Jewett at 5:45 and will be returning to the OTC around 9:00. Meet the buses in front of the Athlete Services Building. If you choose to drive your own vehicle, directions are on page 7 of this document.

Saturday

Breakfast is served in the dining hall beginning at 7 am. For those of you who are staying off campus, you will be responsible for your own meal. We will have coffee and pastries available in the meeting room.

The NRC Promoter summit meeting will convene in West wing (4w on the complex map) at 8:30 am.

Saturday Evening

USA Cycling Promoter Summit Dinner presented by ~ The Ritz Grill

Vans will be leaving for The Ritz Grill at 5:45 and will be returning to the OTC around 9:00. Meet the buses in front of the Athlete Services Building. If you wish to drive your own vehicle, directions are on page 7 of this document.

Sunday

Breakfast is served in the dining hall beginning at 7 am. For those of you who are staying off campus, you will be responsible for your own meal. We will have coffee and pastries available in the meeting room.

The NRC Promoter summit meeting will again convene in the West Wing conference room at 8:00 am.

Departure

Check out of the rooms is 9am. Participants are free to leave their bags in the luggage room by the front desk in the Athlete Center and then go down to the dining hall to eat breakfast. You will need to turn your white card and room key to the front desk before the shuttle departs.

Departure times to Colorado Springs airport from the OTC will leave approximately 1:30-2 hrs before their actual flight time. After 5pm the day before their flight leaves, the participant can come up to the front desk to check their shuttle departure time. The shuttle will pick up outside of Building 9 (the athlete center, where the registration desk is) at their designated shuttle time.

Others departing Denver International airport should also leave the OTC and allow two hours drive time.
