EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM MEETINGTUESDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2019PROVOST CONFERENCE ROOMRICHARDS HALLThose in attendance: Christopher Markwood, Deborah Bordelon, Craig Burgess, Ed Helton, Jeffery Davis, Todd Reeser, Rocky Kettering and Gina Sheeks.Guests: Greg Hudgison and LáWanna Hayes.Greg Hudgison:Holiday Greeting Video - The final version of the holiday greeting video was viewed by the ELT.Gina Sheeks:Winterfest – Attendance is estimated to have been between 2,500-3,000 people. The planning committee will hold an after action meeting soon. Club Football – Although the team did not win against Ohio State University they were very appreciative of the support shown to them by the CSU community.Cougar Commitment – Rocky Kettering is working with Tom Helton, Executive Director of Foundation Properties, to get access to unrestricted capital that Foundation Properties has. The goal is to kick-off this program in Spring 2020.Deborah Bordelon:Holiday Schedule – A copy was distributed to the ELT. It will be sent out to faculty and staff this week. Faculty will have full access to buildings every day between December 21st and 31st except December 25th and January 1st. Students will have limited access between December 21st and 31st . Dr. Markwood asked about the number of working days for nine month faculty and Dr. Bordelon agreed to provide the numbers after the meeting. No approval was required for this item.Enrollment Update – As of December 1st there are currently 781 students enrolled for the January term. That number is up by 28 from this time last year. Chris Markwood asked if there had been any marketing done for the January term and expressed that Sallie McMullin and Greg Hudgison needed to meet regularly regarding marketing efforts. Craig Burgess confirmed that he met several weeks ago with Sallie and Greg regarding Facebook and they have found a way to work with them via Stamats. Dr. Bordelon will follow-up on marketing. Rocky Kettering:There will be a naming ceremony today for the Saunders Center for Laboratory Sciences (formerly the LeNoir Annex). Donors, including former student Dr. Leo Moore, will be recognized. Jeff Davis:CAR Revisited – Jeff sent a modified Tracker A & B spreadsheet to the team via email. The USG has requested updated information. Each team member was asked to look at the tracker and provide information for their areas (whether there has been changes or not). The information is due by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, December 11th. Budget Update – A meeting was held on December 2nd with the executive and budget committees for Faculty Senate and Staff Council to give them an update on the budget. Jeff also attended the full Faculty Senate meeting later the same day.ED Helton:LEAD CSU – The next ELT meeting will be part of the LEAD CSU wrap up session and will include lunch. This meeting is scheduled to be held in Illges 216, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.Cyber Range Update – Looking at a date other than March 11th for the lab unveiling. Chris Markwood asked that the plan be finalized as soon as possible. Deborah Bordelon noted that the delay seemed to be funding per a discussion with Dr. Fonda Carter. Rocky Kettering wasn’t aware of any issues but will get with Gena Stone and Linda Hadley to discuss. Deborah Bordelon will schedule a meeting with all parties to get things moving before the holidays.Todd Reeser:Announced that a new golfer, who also happens to be the son of the AD at GA Southern, has committed to CSU. The fifth annual Girls in the Game event is set for March 26, 2020. The Women’s National Softball team will be playing CSU’s Softball team here in Columbus on April 3, 2020.Todd has been in discussions with Mark Baker of the Houston Clinic and they want to remodel the weight room in the Lumpkin Center. Use of room 114 has already been approved by the space allocation committee. Chris Markwood asked Todd to make sure that the Kinesiology Department is aware of the pending change. Todd will schedule a meeting to get this project moving. Basketball: Men’s team is currently 4-2 and the Women’s team is currently 4-1.Craig Burgess:Position Classification and Compensation Policy – Carole Clerie suggested that this only go to staff but Craig Burgess and Deborah Bordelon agreed that is should go to faculty senate as well due to faculty administrators being included. Cases: An EEOC claim involving an employee in custodial services who requested the ability to use a push vacuum instead of a backpack vacuum. The case has been settled for $13,000.An EEOC case involving an employee from the registrar’s office. The EEOC chose not to pursue the case but did issue a right to sue letter.Chris Markwood stressed that mandatory compliance training should be taken seriously at every level. He would like to see it included in the merit pay requirement.Alcohol Policy – The policy does not need to designate a space. The president’s approval will be required. Aramark will remain the sole provider. Third parties required to have insurance to use spaces.Chris Markwood: The Board of Regents will hold their April meeting here at CSU. A block of eighty rooms has been held at the Marriott Downtown. Ed Helton will be putting together a planning committee to handle specifics. The student who won the three minute thesis will be spotlighted at this meeting.Tom MacKay, president of Sony Music, Film and Television, will be in Columbus on December 4th. There is a lunch with him planned at the golf studio.Final Notes:Rocky Kettering announced that 1) Thankapalooza (sp) is on April 16th. Todd announced that CSU will be playing Auburn Montgomery on the same day. 2) Roughly 1,200 copies of the President’s Impact Report have been printed. 3) The Endowment Report is at $70 million right now.Deborah Bordelon reminded the ELT that the hooding ceremony is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on December 12th in University Hall.Minutes from the November 19th ELT meeting were approved with no changes or additions.There being no other business to discuss, meeting was adjourned at 10:59 a.m.Respectfully submitted by,LáWanna Hayes ................
