Periodic Table Project

For your quarter project you are to create a periodic table out of 1 general ordinary topic (like flowers, sports, fish…). You may cut pictures out of catalogs, magazines, or printouts, and glue them on the table, whatever it takes for creativity.

• The Table needs to have 8 families / groups (columns) and 5 rows…..a total of 40 elements.

• The periodic table must be on poster board. Draw gridlines so each row and column is uniform in height and width.

• You will need to create columns / groups with characteristics in common.

• You need to include periodicity in your families. In other words, they need to change as you go down within the columns. Each column will have similar properties. Each column will be different from one another.

• You will need to name your columns / groups. These names can be in the form of a key / color code that explains the families and their characteristics in common.

• Your periodic table needs to make sense.

• Each square needs to include a name, symbol, color picture (NO HAND DRAWN PICTURES), and a number (use #’s 1-40). Use a sharpie marker to write on the poster board so it can be seen. NO PEN OR PENCIL.

• You will need a section at the bottom of your table which gives at least 4 key facts about your topic. This can be typed.

I have included an example of what your table could look like. SO MEAT IS NOT A CHOICE FOR YOUR PROJECT.

May 9th: All 40 items (5 examples for each of your 8 groups) (on a sheet of paper)
