Course Selection Checklist for the Combined JD/MA in ...

COMBINED JD/Ph.D. POLITICAL SCIENCE

COURSE SELECTION CHECKLIST FOR YEARS 3 AND 4 OF THE PROGRAM

Combined degree students are exempt from minimum enrolment requirements, but not maximum enrolment limits.  Half-year courses are treated as the equivalent of 2 law school credits, and students must stay at or below 16 credits per term, including those out-of-division credits.

Please see the Faculty of Law Academic Handbook on-line for details of the program.

As a combined degree, the J.D. and M.A. are awarded simultaneously. Students must, therefore, have satisfied both the J.D. and the M.A. requirements before either degree may be conferred.

In the first year of the program, students must complete all first-year courses at the Faculty of Law.

In the second year of the program, students complete Political Science coursework and examinations, in accordance with Ph.D. requirements for the Political Science Department.
