We start off our tournament season with our Spring Sectional at the Orangevale Community Center on May 3-5. As usual, there will be a team game on Sunday but we're adding a newcomer section (100/50/20) pairs game (if we get 3 tables). We will also try a slightly different format for Friday and Saturday pair games. There will be three sections:

an A/X section (unlimited/4000) a B/C/D section (2500/1000/500) two single session newcomers games (100/50/20)

This tournament is a great opportunity to see old friends from around town and to test your skills against the best in our area.

The week after our Sectional is the Western Conference Spring STaC games at clubs. It pays silver points and offers the bonus that if you have a top score for the conference, you can win as many as 20 silver points!

To finish Sacramento's tournament month, we have the Sacramento Regional at the Double Tree hotel. The tournament starts Memorial Day, May 27 and continues through to June 2. The lovely part about Regionals is that they are bigger, so you can find the games you prefer. If you like pairs games they are running all the time, but then so are team games! You want to play a double session, but don't want to play evenings, try the Daylight Pairs! You want extra master points, try the Knockouts, which run most days. You got knocked out, then try the evening Swiss or the pairs side games. There are lots of choices and of course, you get to see all the old friends from around Northern California and Northern Nevada plus a few interlopers from elsewhere.
