GENERAL INFORMATION

Tuesday is the designated "Off Campus Day" for High School students 9th to 12th grades.

STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES

This privilege will be granted to students based on the following conditions:

? Student is in good standing with overall dormitory behavior, i.e. cooperation with assignments, responsibilities and attitudes, maintaining room cleanliness, etc.

? Student is not on probationary status with reference to rule infractions (SR&R).

? Student is in Good Academic Standing. ? Student may not go off campus if he/she is

in after school study hall.

The following rules must be observed for students to retain his/her off campus privileges:

? Student must sign out properly between 3:15-3:30 p.m.

? Students must sign out with a friend (can be from other dorms).

? Student is required to sign back in the dorm at designated time (according to daylight savings time)

? Student must conduct his/herself in a positive manner and adhere to school rules while off campus.

? Student can not ride in unauthorized vehicles on or off campus.

SFIS will provide transportation to and from the South Capitol station at these times only:

? Friday after school and Sunday evening pick-up at 7:51pm. o MS students must ride the bus.

? Exceptions will be made for early dismissal days.

Staff will supervise at the South Capitol station until train departs.

2014-15 SANTA FE INDIAN SCHOOL STUDENT INTERNET SAFETY & ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

The Santa Fe Indian School (SFIS) network, owned and operated on behalf of the 19 Pueblos, is intended to serve the educational interests of students and this use shall take precedence over all others. Access to the Internet is a privilege to students who agree to act in a considerate and responsible manner. In the interest of protecting all users, SFIS requires that students comply with the following rules in the use of the SFIS network, e-mail, mobile devices, cell phones and the Internet:

1. Students are responsible for good behavior on the computer network and Internet just as they are in school. SFIS Student Rights and Responsibility policies for conduct and behavior apply.

2. The following computer activities are NOT permitted:

a. Recreational use of social networking sites during the academic day; b. Intentional efforts to bypass the SFIS Internet content filter; c. Use of images, such as wallpapers (computer backgrounds), that are inconsistent with the SR&R handbook; d. Use of another's account, giving your password for others to use; e. Sharing personal information or arranging to meet any person met on-line; f. Cyber-bullying, harassing or threatening others, falsely representing another person; g. Plagiarism, taking the ideas or writings of others and presenting them as one's own; h. Copyright infringement through download, storage, or reproduction of pirated digital content; i. Unauthorized access to wireless networks.

3. Student behavior that undermines or compromises network security is strictly prohibited. This includes, excessive use of bandwidth, unauthorized access to network locations, hacking activities, etc.;

4. Federal law mandates that SFIS comply with law enforcement regarding school safety. As part of due process, SFIS reserves the right to view, collect, and report student data and computer use logs to law enforcement when the safety of the school, student, or staff are in question.

5. To comply with the Child Internet Protection Act (CIPA), SFIS will: a. Use content-filtering software to restrict access to material deemed obscene, pornographic, violent/gang related, or otherwise harmful to minors; b. Student data stored on computers or transmitted over the network will be monitored by and accessible to all SFIS staff. The SFIS IT department, in consultation with the SFIS administration, will provide tools for screening and reporting of Internet use. This includes information publicly posted on the Internet. c. Provide Internet safety training for all students.

6. SFIS reserves the right to change the student Internet rules at any time. (Changes will be posted in the SFIS Bulletin).

Infinite Campus/NASIS Parent Portal Information

Santa Fe Indian School uses Infinite Campus/NASIS for student information management. Infinite Campus has developed a Parent Portal to allow parents/guardians to view the records of their child(ren) via the Internet. Santa Fe Indian School will provide parents/guardians of currently enrolled students the privilege of free access to the Parent Portal. Only parent/guardians of students enrolled in the school will be allowed access to the Parent Portal due to the abuse of the portal, court orders or any other legal proceedings that limit the availability of federally protected information and or data.

PURPOSE

Santa Fe Indian School has opened the Parent Portal to enhance communication between the school and parents/guardians. Enhancing communication among all stakeholders is one of our goals. Users of the Parent Portal will have access to the following:

Personal Data Attendance View/Print student schedules Grade book and assignments View/Print progress reports

Santa Fe Indian School reserves the right to add to or remove any of the above functions from the Parent Portal at any time.

USE OF THE PARENT PORTAL

Access to the Parent Portal on the SFIS system is a privilege, not a right. Users of the Parent Portal are required to adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Users will act in a responsible, legal, and ethical manner. 2. Users will not attempt to harm or destroy data on the school network. 3. Users will not attempt to access data or any other account owned by another user. 4. Users will not use the Parent Portal for any illegal activity, or including violation of data privacy laws. Anyone

found to be in violation of these laws may be subject to civil and or criminal prosecution. 5. Users who identify security problems with the Parent Portal must notify Jennifer Williams, the Infinite

Campus/NASIS systems administrator at SFIS, at 505-989-6308 or nasisHelp@sfis.k12.nm.us. 6. Users will not share their password with anyone, including their own children. 7. Users will not set their own computer to automatically log-in to the Parent Portal. 8. Users identified as a security risk to the Parent Portal or Santa Fe Indian School's network will be denied access

to the Parent Portal.

PORTAL USER ACCOUNT SECURITY FEATURES

Three unsuccessful login attempts will disable the user's Portal account. In order to reactivate, the user will need to return to Santa Fe Indian School to present proper identification and receive password reset. (Resetting the password may take 2-3 days.)

User will automatically be logged off if the Portal web browser is open and inactive for a period of time.

All attempts at logging into the system are recorded and monitored.

TECHNICAL ISSUES WITH THE PARENT PORTAL

There are times when there will be a need to shutdown the Parent Portal for maintenance purposes. Santa Fe Indian School is not liable for any issues related to you personal computer and reserves the right to refuse technical assistance directly related to your personal computer.

DATA INTERPRETATION

Data posted on the Parent Portal will vary based on the school your child attends. It is our goal to maintain accurate records; therefore, if you detect a discrepancy, please notify Jennifer Williams at 505-989-6308 or nasisHelp@sifs.k12.nm.us.

Personal Data ? Personal data is typically updated within one week of student registration. The volume of changes collected during fall registration may delay updates beyond one week. Contact the Office of Admissions if there is incorrect information displayed.
