1.1 Definitions and vocabulary about diseases
Activity 1: In the following link you will find flashcards with vocabulary related to illnesses and pain and their definition in English. In order to learn this vocabulary, you will take a look at the flashcards and then you will be able to play different games to test yourself.

1.2 Writing: What’s the matter?
Activity 3: To describe the common diseases we use the following structures: : “ I have/have got a + noun” o “ I feel + adjective”. This activity consists of writing a short text giving answers to the following questions:
• How do you feel today?
• What are your symptoms?
• What are you going to do?
Activity 4 In this activity, you will write three fictitious situations between you and a doctor, where you will describe how you feel and you will be given a possible solution. To do the activity, you must follow the following model:
SAM: Good morning doctor!
DOCTOR: Good morning Sam. What’s the matter?/ What’s wrong??
SAM: Well, I’ve got a ______________________,and I’m ________________ a lot.
DOCTOR: Have you got___________________?
SAM: No, I haven’t.
DOCTOR: I think you’ve got__________________.
SAM: Oh, that’s terrible!!
DOCTOR: Don’t worry, I’ll give you some medicine, and you’ll be ok in few days.
SAM: Thank you, Doctor
1.3 Role playing: describing your symptoms
Activity 5: In pairs, do a role-playing about the three simulated situations that you described in activity 4 (where you will be a patient and your partner, a doctor) .
1.4 Listening, writing and reading
Activity 6: Listen to the dialogue and make a brief summary of what you understood.

Activity 7: After hearing the dialogue “What’s the matter?” and make a short summary of the text, see if you understand the main ideas, reading the transcript of the text. After that, translate the transcript of the text into Catalan.
Activity 8: Listen to the dialogue and then discuss in pairs what you've understood.
