COLOUR DOPPLER EVALUATION OF BOTH LOWER LIMB VESSELS

There are seen diffuse atherosclerotic changes involving all the arteries of both lower limbs.

The colour Doppler signals and the blood flow pattern shows normal values in the external iliac and common femoral artery on left side.

There is evidence of long segment complete atherosclerotic narrowing of left superficial femoral artery resulting in loss of triphasic wave pattern in popliteal, anterior tibial, posterior tibial arteries in left lower limb. There is seen blood flow but with decreased velocity in popliteal, anterior tibial, posterior tibial arteries due to collaterals.

The colour Doppler signals and the blood flow pattern shows normal values in the external iliac and common femoral artery on right side.

There is evidence of long segment partial atherosclerotic narrowing of right superficial femoral artery resulting in loss of triphasic wave pattern in popliteal, anterior tibial, posterior tibial arteries in left lower limb. There is seen satisfactory blood flow but with slight decrease in velocity in popliteal, anterior tibial, posterior tibial arteries.

The colour Doppler signals and the blood flow pattern shows normal values in the external iliac, common femoral, superficial femoral, anterior tibial, posterior tibial veins of both lower limbs.

There is no evidence of deep venous thrombosis in the both lower limbs.

IMPRESSION:

• LONG SEGMENT COMPLETE ATHEROSCLEROTIC NARROWING OF LEFT SUPERFICIAL FEMORAL ARTERY WITH DECREASED VELOCITY IN POPLITEAL, ANTERIOR TIBIAL & POSTERIOR TIBIAL ARTERIES.
