All of the NEFCCC workplans, strategic plans, and documents align with these statewide priorities. Lauren Stafford from Apryle Showers Foundation gave a presentation: Apryle Showers Foundation’s Mission is to provide rest and retreat to cancer patients in a place of tranquility. The foundation offers beneficiaries a 2-3 stay in beachfront or waterfront hotel and rental properties, complete with meals, gift baskets, and a variety of relaxation or personal care items. The founder of the organization, Apryle Schmidt, was diagnosed with state 4 breast cancer at the age of 37. During her treatment, she was given the gift of a weekend at a condo which allowed her time to process her diagnosis & life changes in order to renew her confidence to fight this cancer more boldly. Apryle’s passion was giving this gift to others. The organization was founded in March 2015 and is a 501c3 non-profit organization. There are 8 members on the board. Currently, Apryle Showers Foundation’s service goal is to serve 6 beneficiaries in the first year, serve maximum of 25 beneficiaries in years following. With that, the revenue goal is $20K a year, achieved through fundraising and donors. Apryle Showers is seeking partners and beneficiaries.
